    A land rover gathering - Evesham - 29th May

Anyone can come, in anything. If people want to make the effort to turn up, then it really doesnt matter what they come in! By the other statement, I meant its not limited to only defenders, or only discoveries, or only series vehicles. Any land rover can come, as well as any other vehicle! :D

    Impressive from Ed at AF

Nor could I agree more. Very competetive quote from Ed at AF. Cheaper than any other renewal I was offered. Much nicer to speak to a knowledgeable bloke on the end of the phone too, thanks a lot Ed!

    bonnet pins

My military catches are fitted the other way around, and I have no problems whatsoever with them like that, they dont come undone at all, even when I am trying to undo them!! I have a 200tdi conversion in my 110, which vibrates an awful lot, and when I have the bonnet up, they dont have vibrate...

Winch wire - bottom or top?

Hi all, Out of curiousity, when installing a new winch wire, should it run over the top of the drum, or underneath? It looks to me like if it goes over the top, it would be quite a sharp angle from the fairlead up to the drum. Would the winch be stronger pulling from underneath? Thanks Tom

    Defender audio - distorted!

Its a 1989 one ten (sorry, use 'defender' as a term so I dont get confused with my series 2!)

    Defender audio - distorted!

So the earth did make a slight improvement, as it turns out, the louder the volume, the more distortion is apparent. Obviously, with the inside of a defender being a fairly high noise area, the volume needs to be quite high to power it! At the moment, there are only 2 of the 6 speakers wired...

    Defender audio - distorted!

Thanks chaps! The more I think about it, the more likely it seems that the cheaper head unit isnt necessarily a good idea! Ill check the earth now and will report back! Thanks Tom
