anyway will a leak in the manifold cause black smoke and loss of power?

mine seems fine in normal driving but only has a problem with the caravan on the back, so only a problem under full load, when you cover the turbo intake does it pulol your hand into the turbo? if not the turbo's fooked

right then folks i finally got around to looking for the problem today and all i could find is oil leaking from the air intake manifold on the side of the rocker cover, so i cleaned up the oil and nipped up the bolts and power seems to be restored:D but could air being sucked in here cause...

so do i mate, it usually is a stuck (**** up) linkage but it could be worse:eek: lets hope not

aup mate it's the ribbed stuff from machine mart, you can get 3 or 6mm, the 6mm ain't cheap though, it's about 80 quid for a 5 meter roll, and there's just enough on a roll to do the whole of a disco inc the boot an a bit left over too do a tool box to;) i used 3mm, it's looks good:D

took the other disco to be weighed in and made anundred quid for my trouble:D

i have thought about it but still not sure:confused: i know if i did it would be more reliable but if it did go wrong i'd need a second mortgage to get it sorted:eek: i'm still undecided at the min

not sure about td5! how good are they? it'd have to be a 90 for playing in;)

the windows are controlled by an ecu under the dashboard behind the glove box, it is usually a faulty solder joint. do a search and you'll find all you need on here, and welcome to the mad house.

well in the last few weeks i've had nothing but problems with the disco and i'm about pi#sed off with spending all my time fixing it, but if i did what could i replace it with to tow the pikey wagon? and also whats a 300tdi R reg disco fully off road equiped worth? i'm now after trouble free...

but the spare tranny box i have has no play at all, so thats why i assume there is some sort of problem

all pipes seem fine but gonna take them all off in the morning and have a good look at them. bloody land rovers
