    TD5 Injector help request

Thanks Steve, that would be geat. All info greatfully received. I'll say this, the issue for me is risk. If I can't get the injector's out easily then I risk of not making it for work etc. while I wait for someone to turn up with the right kit isn't worth it. So the £20 or so quid for a...

td5 oil in wiring harness .

Hi Bloat, this with your other post leads me to think something has come loose after that service. If it's running rough that means a problem with either the air intake system or fuel delivery. Did you change the fuel filter as well?

    td5 runs like a pile of **** .

Hi Bloat. At that mileage / year your machine has had to work for its living that's for sure. A few things spring to mind that it could be, especially after a service. Faulty filters, oil pressure release valve stuck open, your head has failed leaking diesel into your nice clean oil (has...

    Piggin Rocker shaft bolt snapped.

I'd try this! The freezer kits are about £10. I'd warm the head up first with a blow lamp. Not too hot but it'll help as it's the diferential temp between the stud/bolt and the head that counts. get WD40 on it while it's hot then get the freezer on the bolt.

    steering shaking

Shock absorbers shagged, radius arm bushes likewise, swivel pre-load too low, steering ball joints shagged or anti-roll bar bushes going soft. Mine does it too but at higher speed and I'm working my way through the above list. Shockers massive improvement, roll bar bushes cheap and easy...

Best prevention for TD5 exhaust manifold ?

TD5 Exhaust manifilds do distort when they get too hot. If you are expecting to use it in demanding temperatures you can fit a temp guage to monitor it, such as flogging your way through soft Saharan sand. Best practice is to allow the engine to cool down naturaly by allowing it some idle time...

What have I broken? See pics

This thread from Buster will show you what's in there, it's the big seal at the back that's leaking. Check you haven't damaged the swivel ball otherwise you'll have to replace it. But probably it'll be the seal itself. http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f41/swivel-ball-renewal-63808.html...

whats the best defender engine ? poll

TD5 coz I'm no Ludite and Electronics and a greener planet is OK by me especialy as you get more BHP, Ft/Lbs and MPG as well. I draw the line at Transit engines.... I think the Storm engine is a work of art.

    TD5 Injector help request

Exactly!! I don't think we need the original tools, they'll cost a fortune judging by the design, especially the washer remover. From your experience why is a special tool needed for removing the sealing washer? Are they a very tight fit? Does the sealing washer distort when you do up the...

    TD5 Injector help request

I've been chatting with the guy who makes the LR steering wheel pullers on ebay. He'll make me one given the right info, as I think there's a market for these. I just need an old injector to see how to design it. At £250 each and the consequential reconfig of the ECM I think I'd buy or rent...

    TD5 Injector help request

Hi all, Does anyone have a TD5 Injector lying around? I want to know the thread size in the top that is used with the extraction slide hammer tool. If someone has a broken one or one they don't want that they could send me that would be very useful indeed. Many thanks,

    Polyethylene foam for sound dampening?

The owner at NoiseKiller told me he had the product created to his own spec. He certainly knew his stuff. Of course similar products are available. Theirs has a heavy deadening sheet around the silencing foam. The stuff for the engine bay has a lead sheet in it.

    Your bumper opinions please...

All personal opion of course, but if going tubular the First Four Straight. Simple, well finished and strong as hell. I'm going for one of these as the complete package is a good price and I can fit my Land Rover bumper mount lights. Then the A-Bar can go and the muffler fit better for the...
