    Very quiet humm from compressor

Thanks again. I've checked and cleaned out the filter behind the rear light unit, mine is one of the later versions that doesn't fall apart or flood with rainwater. I haven't checked the silencer, hadn't thought of that, will do it next.

    Very quiet humm from compressor

Hi thebiglad, Thanks for getting back. I know the SLS works as you say but after 6 years it suddenly started doing it very noisily and quite often. Could it be a compressor bearing going or piston wear? The suspension seems quite happy and it gets worked hard up forest tracks every day. No...

    Very quiet humm from compressor

Hi Mormond, I'll do that. The sound is not the pump running, the pump makes much more noise than that. With the electrics disconnected I'll know if it is the motor or an air valve making the sound. I want to know because we also have a very loud noise coming from the compressor...

    Sunroof drain tube exit point

Hi Mad Hat Man, (love that name!) You're correct, I misunderstood you, apologies. I'm not sure if there are any holes large enough to get at the tube in the upper A-frame above dashboard level until you get to the roof lining? If there are then the drain pipe should be accessible there too.

    Sunroof drain tube exit point

Hi Discool, Mad Hat Man, Yes, you can get to the tube by taking the lower inner trim (kickpanel) off the A-pillar and getting to it through the hole the door electrics come through. You could extend the pipe to make it accessible outside the drain hole and easily cleared if you really wanted...

    Sunroof drain tube exit point

Hi folks, Many times on many Discovery forum sites I've seen people asking "where does the sunroof drain pipe end and empty from?" and never seen a clear answer. Well, in solving my A-pillar flooding problem I have now found out, at least for my 2004 td5 Disco. The front sunroof drain pipe...

    Very quiet humm from compressor

Hi folks, While under our 2004 Td5 Disco I happened to be very close to the air suspension compressor when I heard a very muffled buzzing noise coming from it. The ignition had been off for over an hour so I wouldn't expect any electrical activity but something was buzzing. Anyone else had this?

    A-Pillar full of water

Hi Discool, I checked on our son's 1995 D1 and the drain hole was on the front of the A-pillar as you describe, thanks for the photo really helped. BUT, on our 2004 D2 it is not there. I've now found it, it is at the back of the A-pillar almost at the very base where the pillar comes to a...

    A-Pillar full of water

Thanks NeilT, once I get a chance I'll take the panel off and use your advice to help me put it back.

    A-Pillar full of water

Hi again BigLad, thanks again. No drain hole on the A-pillar below the hinge bolts on mine. I'll take a look underneath below the sill when it stops raining. At least he Duct Tape fix is still working.

    A-Pillar full of water

Thanks BigLad, I'll take a look as soon as my wife gets back with the Disco. (I've attached a photo of the new Discovery accessory for leaking A-pillars! Just held on by Duct Tape)

    A-Pillar full of water

Hi BigLad, Thanks for the input about a drain hole at the botton of the A-post. I had a quick look for one and didn't see one. I was even thinking of making one. With the dirt-track use we give the Disco it is probably so caked in mud I missed it! Could you give me an idea where it is...

    A-Pillar full of water

Hi Neil, That does help, thank you., it's kind of what I suspected. I've been putting off removing the trim strip from the outside of the A-pillar because I have heard it is difficult to put back. Did you have any trouble with it? Any tips?

    A-Pillar full of water

Hi folks, Slowly I am tracking down the leaks in our 2004 Td5 Discovery. Once again we found the front passenger footwell full of water. The A-pillar is filling up with water! I took the carpet out to let it dry and started looking where the water was coming in. I've sorted the sunroof...

    Discovery Td5 footwell leak solved

Hi again folks, Finally got the chance to do some more hose testing to find the leak into the footwell. It's not the sunroof or the air-con. I sprayed water over the A-pillar corner on the (UK) passenger side, making sure the door window and windscreen got very wet but not the roof or top of...

    Water leaks

Thanks Mossa, I'll take a look for that tomorrow. I've been doing the hose test today and not a drop has got in and yet last night while the Disco was parked on the drive it came in giving us a puddle in the footwell this morning! Thanks again,

    Water leaks

Hi again Mossa, I fixed the leak down the side of the door we mentioned earlier in another thread. I'm now tracking down another leak and while looking for info I found your question from last summer. I now have a water drip from somewhere directly under the glovebox lock. It happens with the...

    300tdi Radio pinout diagram?

Thanks guys, yes it is an old car that I was thinking of installing it into, it has wiring from pre-standardised connectors. I didn't realise how standardised these things had become. Anyway after Googling I also realised that the Disco radio needs an amplifier unit too so as I don't want to fit...

    Discovery Td5 footwell leak solved

Hi Andy, The photos should show where I cut the carpet (Stanley knife and a pair of small tinplate shears.) First I took out the trim strip inside the door edge, a few screws under a press-in plastic dress strip and then removed the seat base surround, just a few screws and pull-out fixer at...

    300tdi Radio pinout diagram?

Hi, I've a 300tdi radio/CDController, it's a Philips AMR2195 / Rover 22DC710/61E . I want to fit it into a different vehicle but have no connection details for the connectors on the back. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for one of these?
