He has more to do with your bog standard cars i think, I'm earning slowly.. I'm not mechanicaly minded, hardly any of my family know how to maintain vehicles (so I've never been shown how to do anything with vehicles, especialy 4x4's). I prefer going to smaller workshops as I can see them...

Done a few things recently, one was getting my local mechanic to change the diff oils, transfer box oil, and gear box oil although this didn't go quite to plan so getting that sorted on Monday :( Moved the CB noise filter to the back of the engine (near enough), as the CB is picking up engine...

    Sunroof motor

Thanks for the advice 'discool', I have decided not to fiddle with it, as I tend to brake things by mistake when I do :p The mechanic didn't fancy ripping the whole sunroof out as he suggested that if the water is only coming in via the drainage channel tubes then the seal between sunroof...

Hi all, Just a quick question.. I'm a bit concerned about my auto gear box on my 2004 Landrover discovery II, I had a local mechanic drain and replace the gear box oil and filter, I mentioned about the proceedure for moving the gear selector while at idle but he said it was not nessesary...

I can't comment on the vehcile as I have very little mechanical knowledge but I recently purcashed a DiscoII only to find out the ACE had failed adn the previous owner had somehow manage to bodge the system, I was adviced to remove the entire system as my local Landrover specialist pointed out...

    Sunroof motor

Thanks for clearing that up, atleat I know I can get one, not limited to a specific motor :) .. Roof not leaking?

I know this thread is a bit outdated but I'm guessing it worked since there was no follow up to this. Boot liner, is this any good?

I got one on my Disco, the seller chucked it in for free, he found to to be extremely useful when he was transporting the dog about. I also find it to be very handy, can chuck things in without worrying about scuffing plastics, backs of the seat, keeps the floor dry and clean if you spill...

    CB radio setup

I decided to mount the aerial on a mag mount, after realising the Sirio gutter mount I bought would not fit on the discovery 2 gutter due to the plastic weather strip - I was not for cutting the plastic so I decided to leave it and use my old mag mount as advices by Gwyn Lewis (4x4 specialist)...
