    VNT turbo on 300tdi Issue

It is yes šŸ‘šŸ». Interested in a vnt when I do a freshen up but think she’d need the injectors and pump doing first as on 245k šŸ˜‚

    VNT turbo on 300tdi Issue

What are standard tdi internals and the Bosch pump pairing good for John? Assume they’ll run 1.5 bar all day? We obviously have to keep Egt etc in check.

Why are parts so crap these days?

Always have to hunt out ā€˜g’ parts and even then it’s sometimes hard to find certain bits or they’re ridiculous money if they’re G. Thankfully, Land Rover parts are a lot cheaper than jap or premium German. But, do they break more so it evens out anyway? šŸ˜‚

    Beating the Land Rover cold

Genuine door seals and good door alignment helps. That defender draught right on the hip and kidney is horrible. My 300tdi disco is fine after first couple miles šŸ˜‰

Bought an allisport one didn’t you. Couldnt avoid it could you…. Don’t know if you did that weird in-line stat but they’re quite brittle too and worth changing

Disco 1 Measurements for Rear Door Gap

Max if you want pictures of it all look at my ā€œtry again threadā€ there’s also details in there for it all. I’ve gone to the extent of new tubs where I didn’t watch to keep patching! You’ll be buzzing once it’s done.

Disco 1 Measurements for Rear Door Gap

Yeah I lifted mine from there with wooden blocks. I did a similar repair to the one you’re doing years ago. It’s quite intricate at the boot end! The actual beam isn’t too bad. You’ve got unlucky that it’s gone there. Yeah I’m doing full restoration on this one šŸ‘šŸ» Bare in mind micks pictures...

    Pig

Well this old sow has been excellent through the winter. I thought I’d sell it when restoration is done but think I’d struggle to part with her. What I’d like to know if what you guys would do to give it a little refresh mechanically? I’ve tonnes of spares and as it doesn’t smoke much or use...

Disco 1 Measurements for Rear Door Gap

Your door was likely scraping due to the hinge sagging mate rather than the metal work sagging. Good shout on the bar across the back - I’ve literally just done the same as what you say albeit I used a crane.

Time to check everything lines up! Also repaired the pillar and neatened it right up. I’m going to chop the bottom off other side and repeat the process as it’s so much tidier and I hate it when this area looks scabby. You really notice it on discos when you open the rear door, Anyway, there’s...
