1) Picture of bulkhead. (this is solid as a rock but will it fail MOT) ? 2) Oil leek from ball area (How much to fix) ? 3) Tail of exhaust missing (How Much to replace) ? 4) Can this be welded ? I suppose theres more faults, as I know nowt about cars. Any help please If...

Im glad someone has posted this thread as mine is the same, I can not weld so I would have to get someone else to do it for me, is it a long job ? and what would I be looking at price wise ?

New plugs is only one of me problems I have a leak on the front wheel near the swivel ball,I need a rear part of exhaust,and thats what I can see who knows what else is wrong with it. And its a 2.5td so I have problems dont I ??/:confused: If only Id done my home work:o

Well I started my defender 2.5td today with the advice of heater plugs on for 20 seconds then off for 10 seconds then on for 20 seconds and it started first time. (First time its done that) with advice of above post. Cheers a Lot

Snap mate, my 2.5td is the same. Once started it runs fine but always takes 2 - 3 turns to start. Going to try that 20 seconds on plugs 10 seconds off and 20 seconds back on.

This will sound crazy as it does to me But How do I tell if my Landy is a 2.5td or the 2.5tdi? as it does not say on the V5. My landy 90 is a G reg 1990 Any help for me (a thick head) please once again Im a new landy owner and not got a clue cheers

Im even laughing at myself for being such a twit, Ive never had a Land Rover before, and theres no markings on the little lever, so its confusing me I did read post 3, but when I move the lever over to the LEFT it still dont seem to do owt. Anybody got a manual for a defender:D :D :D

Yes Sorry, I feel really stupid now, as your right. When I thought it was in the (N position it was in the (H) position. Because I havnt had one before it was difficult for me to tell where it was . Gonna have to read up about these defenders I thought there was something wrong with it (But NO)...

Thanks for helping , When its in (L) it drives very slowly, but I cant get it into (H) position ?? When its in (N) in the middle you can move the lever quite freely from side to side but it drives ok still(normal I Think)

yes mate it does, but dont seem to go into H its driving when its in (N) ok

It seems to go forward for (L) Middle for (N) and its driving in that And it dont seem to go back for (H) is there a problem then

Im new to this 4wd defender Anyway could someone please tell me how to operate the 4wd on my defender? What do I have to do to make it work???? All I know is the little nob says (N...L...H) Im driving normally when its in (N) I can move it to the (L) position but cant move it into (H) position...
