ok cheers... i just got under it and noticed that there is a small drip of red oil like substance next to the drain plug on the bell housing. it could be nothing as it could do with a decent clean up under there

hi all i managed to pick up a 200tdi defender just over a month ago :), been doing little bits n bobs on it to get it mint, now i have no clutch, if i push the clutch down there is nothing untill about 1cm from the floor but there is still drive getting to the wheels whatever i do, im thinking...

still no boots and still no money to get new ones.... :-(

hey i have a disco with 16inch wheels and i no this is cheeky but i was wondering if anyone has any good tyres that they want to sell off..? my ones are shot and i cant afford to buy new ones..:( i need 4 i dont care if they are road/ a.t or m.t tyres as long as they have enough tread on them...

i couldent believe my luck when i checked the splines and it cost me £100 for the transfer box with a 90 day warranty :) i do alot of miles where is the best place to get the oil feed stuff and the stuff to repair the diff?

i no the feeling its just loud and anoying there is a small bit of play in one of the uj's but that surely cant make a clunk that loud can it? i hope it isent my diff cuz that sounds expensive :(

the splines were lovely after i cleaned them up. the bloke who i baught it from had neglected it for so long and not put any oil in it.. ever... :doh: the oil had prety much turned to rubber around the input shaft when i took it off which was more than likely the reason y i had trouble getting...

i would think it would be the uj's as it seems like there is alot of slack to take up (not sure if that makes any difference at all) i just dident think the clunk would be that loud i will check it though cheers

i have a 1993 200tdi discovery andwhen i take up the slack when pulling away there is a clunk coming from the front.. (diff area) it wil be fine after that untill i slow down or go back down through the gears the it will clunk when pulling away again... has anyone got any ideas of what it could...

finaly got the time to do the transfer box... its all in and working better than ever cheers for your help people :)

na its the transfer box i baught the landy for pennys the other day knowing something was wrong with it.. after the transfer box went i drained the oil out to begin removing it and managed to squeeze about a tablespoon of the thickest blackest oil i have ever seen in my life no wonder it went rly

yah i have done all that but it still dont want to move... i just cant think y cuz there is nothin holding it there

checkerd out the transfer box and its nackered got one on its way and the one in it is not wanting to come out can someone give me some advice on removing it plz
