    My new Disco - 300TDi

Ok, that gives me a few things to check... I replaced the front lower UJ this evening, although I have a feeling I replaced the end 180 degrees out from where it was originally - will that screw up the balancing? Refitting will have to wait until the new bolts turn up, hopefully tomorrow or...

    My new Disco - 300TDi

Thanks - There is a bit of play in both axle diffs, I'd say between 1/8 and 1/16 of a turn. How do you test the middle one and the 'box output shaft? Is it something that needs to be fixed, or one of those "all old landys do it" type things? I suspect rebuilding a diff or box is probably beyond...

    My new Disco - 300TDi

Took the front prop off last night in preparation for changing the lower U/J, however there is still a definite 'clunk' coming from the transmission somewhere - particularly when I press the clutch to change up - What might this be?

Hi All - looking to get back into Landy Ownership

Well, after much research, I've now bought a 1997 Discovery 300TDi :) It needs a few bits and bobs doing, but overall seems to be pretty tidy, and appears to have been looked after... I've started a thread for it in the Disco section.

    My new Disco - 300TDi

Hi all, I've just bought a Disco - a 1997 300TDi, in Green. Already fitted with a winch, winch bumpers, snorkel and 2" lift. She's not perfect, needs a couple of little bits of welding, and the front prop lower UJ is completely shot (new one on order - I get the impression that is a fairly...

    A few questions - rust...

Unfortunately that's not really an option at the moment - I don't have anywhere sensible to do noisy work without annoying the neighbours...

    A few questions - rust...

Hi all, As I mentioned in my thread over in the intro section, I have decided to get back into Landy ownership, and after much research, I decided that a 300TDi Disc was the best thing for what I need, and my budget... Looking around, I've found one I quite like, but as always it isn't...

Hi All - looking to get back into Landy Ownership

Thanks Nick, I am considering a Disco as well, but I understand they can rot quite badly as they age, and are (at the cheaper end of the market) more likely to have been neglected by non-enthusiast owners?

Hi All - looking to get back into Landy Ownership

Hi All, I'm Nick, and I'm thinking of getting back into Landy ownership, as I used to have a Series 3 a few years ago, and miss the fun! I therefore have quite a few questions for you all - not sure if this is the best section to post them in? If not, I'll copy the rest of this post into a new...
