    Series 3 My new 109

I'm lucky that my wife is pretty supportive - she wants to buy a smallholding in a few years time, if we can figure out a way to afford it - and I figure that would need multiple Land Rovers!

    Series 3 My new 109

Definitely - I'd keep this one if I could, just don't have the space or the money... Long term plan is to move somewhere with enough space to build a workshop and have a whole collection (I can dream, right?)

    Series 3 My new 109

I could! Quite a way to go yet though!

    Series 3 My new 109

£4200 ono - including a brand new Exmoor trim soft-top, a new alternator, and the spare set of wheels I got from Citizen Kane. I don't have enough posts to put an ad in the for-sale section yet, unfortunately...

    Series 3 My new 109

Unfortunately a change of circumstances means this is now for sale :( Sadly the desire for a fun Landy has to take second place to the need for something more economical and sensible...

    Series 3 My new 109

I picked up this little beauty at the weekend... She's a 1983 ex-military 2.25 petrol, with a very solid looking chassis and bulkhead, and 38,000km on the clock, but as always there's a few things need sorting, as and when funds allow - mostly little niggles that should be easy (like a...

SOLD Defender steel wheels and tyres.

Hi Citizen Kane - are these still available? I'm in Basingstoke so can collect easily over the weekend Cheers, Nick

    UK Regs

Which law requires that? The only stuff I can find in the Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations regarding 'optional main beam lamps' doesn't mention any kind of height requirements - but does say they have to be white, and in a matched pair. The only height requirements I can find are for dipped...

    300TDi coolant type

I haven't, but they look cheap enough... I'll test the strength then drain and replace if it's much too weak...

    300TDi coolant type

While replacing the PAS pump last weekend, I took off the top rad hose to get easier access - which obviously then required topping up the coolant. Looking in the manual, it says to use ethylene glycol based antifreeze, however the stuff currently in there is red - which I would associate with...

First Breakdown - PAS pump? (300TDi)

All fixed and back together :)

First Breakdown - PAS pump? (300TDi)

Managed to get the fan off in the end - I wrapped the old belt around the pulley and gripped it as tightly as possible with a pair of mole grips, then wedged them against the block, which gave enough purchase to stop the pulley turning...

First Breakdown - PAS pump? (300TDi)

So as per usual this is turning out to be much harder than expected - the parts turned up on Monday, and with a bit of free time last night I tried to fix it, and immediately hit the first stumbling block - I can't get the viscous fan off! Without the belt, it just spins freely, and I can't get...

First Breakdown - PAS pump? (300TDi)

That's be easier said than done - both pulley and belt are in the boot!

First Breakdown - PAS pump? (300TDi)

I've not managed to update my thread on here in a while as I've been busy getting the Disco through it's MOT (which turned out to be more expensive than expected, but that's another story...) Tonight, however, saw my first breakdown in it, as she threw off the serpentine belt on the M3. The...

    My new Disco - 300TDi

I went for a short greenlaning trip yesterday evening :D Just a couple of easy local lanes... No photos alas, as it was too dark...

    My new Disco - 300TDi

It's the rust that's proving the problem - I can get a spanner on it, but can't get either of them to move!

    My new Disco - 300TDi

Thanks - I can't see any pitting. At the moment I can't even get the filler plugs out to check the level - completely siezed. Is there a tool available to remove them? I can find every kind of filler plug socket possible except for a 1/2" female... Took her for a fairly long journey yesterday...

    My new Disco - 300TDi

Refitted the Prop on Thursday, and the clonk has gone... I have however found that both swivels are weeping oil, so there's another job! Being a '97, it appears to have the later type of swivels that ought to be full of grease and don't have a level plug - presumably they've been refilled with...

Hi All - looking to get back into Landy Ownership

Thanks Andy - I hope mine proves to be that reliable - though I won't be doing anywhere near that many miles...
