Which law requires that? The only stuff I can find in the Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations regarding 'optional main beam lamps' doesn't mention any kind of height requirements - but does say they have to be white, and in a matched pair. The only height requirements I can find are for dipped...

While replacing the PAS pump last weekend, I took off the top rad hose to get easier access - which obviously then required topping up the coolant. Looking in the manual, it says to use ethylene glycol based antifreeze, however the stuff currently in there is red - which I would associate with...

Managed to get the fan off in the end - I wrapped the old belt around the pulley and gripped it as tightly as possible with a pair of mole grips, then wedged them against the block, which gave enough purchase to stop the pulley turning...

So as per usual this is turning out to be much harder than expected - the parts turned up on Monday, and with a bit of free time last night I tried to fix it, and immediately hit the first stumbling block - I can't get the viscous fan off! Without the belt, it just spins freely, and I can't get...

That's be easier said than done - both pulley and belt are in the boot!

It's the rust that's proving the problem - I can get a spanner on it, but can't get either of them to move!

Thanks - I can't see any pitting. At the moment I can't even get the filler plugs out to check the level - completely siezed. Is there a tool available to remove them? I can find every kind of filler plug socket possible except for a 1/2" female... Took her for a fairly long journey yesterday...

Refitted the Prop on Thursday, and the clonk has gone... I have however found that both swivels are weeping oil, so there's another job! Being a '97, it appears to have the later type of swivels that ought to be full of grease and don't have a level plug - presumably they've been refilled with...
