well iv not long had my disco and it wasnt looked after to well but my mpg before the services was 27 mpg and after a full service it is now doin 36 mpg and iv got the de cat to do yet

just gotta check this as i have no reference guide as yet so to drain the g box oil it is the large bolt looks like it may be 22mm area and to fill it back up its the giant grub screw near the top of the g box prob square key bit to remove it.

any idea on the other service intervals please and it looks like mine has been done as im on 90k and it looks like a newish gasket on the front case and im sure i heard of a filter near the tank? is there?

im guessing there is a few breather pipes arond the engine so wot is done with these when fitting a snorkle?

how often do the belts need changeing? il prob just get full kit and then il know its all done this may well be the first vehicle i mite do more than one cambelt lol

iv seen there is a kit that has a modified pully in it and i just wonderd if this needs changeing every time or if it is permanent and what sort of age should the pully and tensioner be changed?

i am in deed bud i got a disco on a blinding swap for a fiat stilo lol and this was due to having to fish for gears and he thought the box was junked and then i went and purchased one of these BUSH-SELECTOR YOKE manuf part # FTC2203 and spent all of 20 mins fitting it and then like magic i have...

well thanx to this forum i managed to turn a ruff driving mess of a gear change into a nice feeling change. so top credit to this forum and a 1.90 + vat bit of plastic thats transformed my disco and made me wonder why it took so long for me to buy one lol

im wantin to replace the blown bulbs in my switchs and am happy strippin and soldering but does anyone know what wattage led i will need? also are the indicator n wiper stalk ment to be illuminated?

this may be a daft question but i havent looked yet as iv been workin on the gearbox change issue but witch bungs are these and where should they be on a 300 tdi? iv had many a vehicle thats changed from original so i like to know how it shud be unless the mod is better of course lol

well i had a sneaky peak in the top of the box today and found out that my selctor yoke bush ftc2203 is nolonger living there lol it has moved to the box its self in lots of little bits so i think il get a new one of those lol as its steel on steel and has alot of play in it so that why my gear...

cheers for the replys all the thing that i cant figure in my head is that if these springs go what makes you have to go accross the truck and punch the leg of the passenger to get 1st n 2nd? i think that the plastic cage has prob gone aswell so ill replace the lot ie new cageand bias...
