Discovery 1 300tdi Auto with air con - Winch bumper?

The reason possibly is when a winch is fitted the airflow would be restricted. Theres was a post a year or so from a owner of an auto whom was concerned about air flow so was looking for suggestions on rising the auto box oil cooler thats behind the grill higher, no mention of the AC condenser...

    Air flow sensor

You may or not be lucky, some times a superseded part number can mean just the part now has a different means of attachment. I expect it would be difficult to find what the differences were if any, even with the aid of Google.

    Air flow sensor

No, if its a Range Rover the 3.5 was “flapper” the 3.9 “hot wire”. For a D1, all EFIs were hot wire. but the 3.5 air flow sensor had a different part number to the 3.9 and then there was two part number changes to follow the last one being mid 1995. So for the D1 possibly not.🤔

    3.5 efi ignition issue

The solenoid clicks and it has its own issues with its contacts, if u can hear it in side the car, if your still using the original item. So from ignition switch to the relay I forget at the moment where it was but there was a relay under the bonnet that I removed some times for vehicle a...

    3.5 efi ignition issue

I assume the click u hear is the starter relay so check that the relay has switched voltage to the starter solenoid, is the solenoid engaging to switch voltage to the starter ? and so crank the engine. 13.3v seems ok following a full charge it will settle to around12.8v … depending on how...

Disco 2 steering wheel is centralized

DIY if you have the skill and the diy tools to do it as Ive done in the past… not on a Land Rover. But for precision, the kit that some garages now have to check the steering i’d go there.

    Crankshaft sensor

Definitely you won’t find it on a 3.5 V8, it doesn’t have one manual or automatic.

Classic temp guage clocks sender or head

My disco runs just ‘north’ over the central line, as your gauge also runs just over the central line, being west as its a horizontal display 😊 If it stays that way like mine its not an issue.

Classic temp guage clocks sender or head

Looks similar to the dash that my 1987 3.5 so an EFI other than mine was MPH. As you have a 300 Tdi engine fitted so you require a coolant temp sensor part no. AMR1425 indicated by a green band. Thermostat if interested is ERR2391. The range rover dash illuminated indicators are self explanatory.

re programing my remote key 1998 300tdi

Hi to you. I’ve never heard of re-programming a D1 remote fob, but after disconnecting and re-connecting the vehicles battery the fob has to be re-synchronised to the security ECU, simply done by pressing the lock button on the fob around 4 times the central locking will then lock. So assuming...

DISCOVERY 1 OBD OR NOT OBD?? and REPLACEMENT KEY??

Ok, look for as they may have added by a previous owner of the vehicle the blue bag that was fitted at the rear of the centre console and the roller blind covering the boot. Both were added a year or so latter from the 1990MY disco and are now collectors items, sometimes found on eBay.

Ok GA 1990 and so one of the first then, 3 door models were on sale around September 1989 with the 1990 model year, with the 200tdi or 3.5 with carbs. non electric windows, steel wheels plus the blue upholstery. It was rumoured that the 3.5 carb V8 was surplus RR stock. Definitely a dealer fit...

Defender Spotlamp Nudge Bar on D1

Bull bars for the D1 like the previous RR slotted through the under bumper spoiler to bolt onto the leading edge of the chassis. Then for the D1 there’s the A bar and made of … shall we say made of plastic and foam, which appears to me a lot lighter and a bit thinner but even that is only an...

    D1 Tachometer issue

The ignition warning light and rev counter are two different circuits, turning the switch to position 2 the lamp should illuminate and the spinning alternator turns it off, the alternator supplies a pulse signal for the rev counter, now its possible that you have a faulty alternator, the new...

Well 1990 V8 thats a classic if it’s one of the first EFI D1. What ever the age of D1s they just have a standard key that can be copied at most shoe repair shops. As the vehicle has central locking with a remote fob but the alarm wasn’t a standard when it left the factory, and option fitted by...
