had some great fun yesturday till i got well and truley stuck in very thick mud! ive got a champion 12000 winch on the front of my 300 90 and it wouldnt do anything! theres me thinking that a 12000 winch should be able to pull me out of anything am i wrong is it possible that there is a fault...

what sort of sealant works best for the gutters as i also have to do mine?

sorry it all began with a rear crank seal failing which was replaced 2 weeks ago after that no problems with gear select but i always had a noisy transfer box so then yesturday the transfer box was replaced which then left me with this problem now? ive had a look at the slave cylinder adjustment...

ill have a look. its hard to say about the bell housing bolts as this was done last week due to a leaking crank seal thanks v much for you help!

thanks! ive checked the fluid levels and their all good, it seems to me thats the problem that the clutch doesnt quite get enough throw (if that makes sense) it engages but not quite enough. the chap who did it said it could be that the clutch fork is breaking and causing this but it is a new...

supposably the gearbox was not touched....? but the thrust bearing was silent before hand? whilst changing gear with the engine off, the clutch makes near on no difference depressed or not?

where are the gear linkages thats what i was hopeing??? and the transferbox is a newly rebuilt jobby, does the transfer box play anypart of normal driving gear changes?

After having my transfer box changed yeturday i now have a very noisy clutch bearing and its very hard to engage 1st gear 2 isnt easy but the rest are fine?? i also noticed when acelerating hard from 40 onwards a high pitch whine (sounds simular to the turbo) can someone please shine some light...

im towing a boat 50 miles tonight and i gotta admit im a little bit unsure of whats to be expected but 1 way to find out! ;)

i did think as much! i can happily build a 2 stroke jetski or boat engine which i do quite often but never really played with cars especially 4x4's but hey ho ill give it a go :) thanks people

im a little stumped at the moment is my defender going to be a money pit? ive owned it for 6 months so far and the costing and problems keep coming! mot = £400 welding and general bits and pieces tax = £250 transfer box + fitting = £200 now a rear main oil seal = £400 engine also using water...

yeah i think it is the rear main seal?

ive have now sprung a very heavy oil leak coming from here im loosing about half a pint in 24 hours ive been quoted £400 to fix some seal?? is it going to kill my clutch or anything else if i continue to drive it and just keep topping the oil up?

so would this not be caused by the transfer box?
