My Misses hated my 110 but loves the discovery! :p

Did one on my 110 last year, with extensions, left the tub in place, pulled the loom back and stripped everything off the chassis rails then cut straight through with a repro saw! Tidied it up after, then used the tub to support the weight and aid with lining it up while Welding it up.

I have done this when towing heavy trailers at work, only ever use it for pulling away though, first gear, then once moving a quick shift into hi range and away we go. I wouldn't want to do it at any higher speeds than crawling and any higher up than 1st or 2nd low. But I'm no expert so you may...

But that's all part of the fun in owning a Landrover ;) :p

I have bearmach on mine and they are great on and off road.

Looks abit pricey for what it is. Allard performance intercooler kit starts at £400 and I know what I'd rather have.

Research before you buy, check sills, boot floor, seatbelt mounts, front inner arches... Basically the body tends to rot not the chassis on a disco.. Know what you are looking at and learn to weld you will be fine. I have a 97 300tdi and love it. Mice to drive and great fun off road.

So what your saying is if I said to you I posted a letter you would take my word for it? No... At least with proof of posting a letter to the previous owner there is a way of proving you actually sent it. Better than having fook all!

Simple solution to snapping your bolts is to CLEAN them first, use a wire brush and loads of WD40, take a good 10mins + on each one, will make your life a lot easier! We use a big pair of grips or something like to lock onto the old shocks. Or a spanner on the end if you can get one on!!

Probably wont ever hear anything, but job peed off would you be if you spent thousands restoring it in your own time for yourself and somebody else came along and claimed it!? Send the letter recorded delivery and keep the receipt safe. That's your proof of trying to contact the former owner...
