    Is this a problem?

My money would be on a soon-to-be-defunct clutch too. Freelander diesels tend not to increase revs very quickly between 50 and 70 under normal operating conditions (i.e. with the foot to the shagpile)! The turbo just whistles a happy toon!

    Freelander rpm at 70mph

    My manual Td4, 2006 MY, 215/65 R16 tyres does 2750rpm at 70mph indicated (satnav = 68mph)

Which wiper blades. No really I'm serious.

Which brand do you use on the INSIDE? I know Freelanders suffer from condensation issues, but isn't that course of action a tad extreme???:)

Black diesel versus bio diesel versus svo

But, depending on your model, you also might want to look in your Driver's Handbook, which states explicitly that the 2.0 Td4 (BMW) engine is not compatible with Bio. I'm not sufficiently informed as to whether there is a conversion that allows this.

    harsh african test drive

Odd ... I'm 6'3" and don't find the seat on my Td4 a problem at all (except the sun visor blocks my vision entirely, but I haven't had much cause to use that recently!). Maybe I have longer legs and a shorter back than you guys!

    Correct wheels for 2005 TD4

My '06 MY TD4 Adventurer has the 16" 5-spokers that site calls "Freedom". I believe they are original fit.

    Petrol and diesel don't mix

GA, I never suggested that those were the reasons for the explosion on Piper Alpha. The thread had taken the tone of slagging health & safety, and I was merely raising the point that it has its place in keeping people safe.

    Petrol and diesel don't mix

I'd sooner you didn't resort to personal insults when you know nothing about me. And CLASS??? Please!

    Petrol and diesel don't mix

D' OH! But I'm not the sort that is a jobsworth; I help people with common sense figure out how to do their work safely. There is too much done in the name of 'elf 'n' safety which has no basis in common sense or the law, and we're fighting against it constantly.

    Petrol and diesel don't mix

Apologies, my previous message was also not on the original topic, which was helping someone in need because of their own carelessness. There is a whole new industry growing around these poor unfortunates, and they will charge what they can get away with. Little sympathy from me,I' m afraid!

    Petrol and diesel don't mix

Sorry to break up the party by bringing back the topic, but the issue with mobiles on forecourts is nothing whatever to do with signals interfering with kit. It is because when you turn phones on and off, and when you receive texts or calls, it can sometimes be accompanied by small electrical...

Do you have any of the following?

I have an 07 reg Td4 hardback if still interested. Happy New Year to all

    Freelander 3 mule spied

I was told by a guy at the LR Experience in Luton that the reduced window area as seen on the ghastly Evoque and now FL3 (especially on the rear passenger doors) is to enable them to come into line with new Euro regs on side impact protection. It gives the impression of the roofline (i.e...

Fuel consumption, aircon on v off

At risk of going off topic, there is a lot of unmarked stuff on the four-lane section of the A1(M) near Peterborough, and used widely on the Beds/Herts stretch too. And my boss is a bloody JP! :(

    Boot locker

Sorry for bumping this thread, but I am wondering why the carpet in my fish tank was sopping bloody wet in the "height" of summer (when I had the hardback off and wanted to stop people stealing my wallet, camera, etc ... all of which got very wet), and yet is now (after persistent downpours in...

Fuel consumption, aircon on v off

I reckon 65mph actual at 70mph indicated is about right for most speedos. Do the traffic police trick they are required to do at the start of every shift: drive on motorway or dual carriageway on which the marker posts are properly maintained (i.e. not run over by the tractor mower and just left...

Fuel consumption, aircon on v off

From Hd3's scangauge data (whatever that may be!), it looks as the litre per hour burn rate at idle could be as much as 20% lower with the AC off, so the 16% figure you cite isn't unknown. How this translates into mpg at 2500rpm I don't know!
  18. IanSG19

Fuel consumption, aircon on v off

I don't have a problem with it running, other than perhaps increasing fuel consumption through unintentional over-use. It's actually quite a good way of stopping us from forgetting to run the AC for 10 mins once a week to keep the system charged and lubricated.

    TD4 fuel gauge and consumption

Still reading approx 7/8 full after 149 miles since top-up! If only the gauge was linear, I'd be getting 1200 miles to a tank!

Fuel consumption, aircon on v off

Hi All I know there are a few threads on here concerning fuel consumption, but I only twigged recently that my 06 Td4 turns on my air-con whenever I point the flow at the screen, but doesn't have the decency to tell me or let me override it! So my starter for ten is has anyone compared their...
