    Freelander 1 aerial

Hopefully sufficiently-related note ... Does anyone have experience of installing a DAB head, and is the standard aerial good enough and/or is there a straight swap for a DAB-compatible aerial that can be installed through the light (on the 3 door) without having to dismantle the whole car...

Freelander 1 Temperature in the back

Well i've had the thing for 6 years and never encountered that before. Probably because very little comes out of it!!! Never mind - i'll take a blanket!!

Freelander 1 Temperature in the back

Is there a vent under the front seat in the Hardback - I've failed to see one! Maybe that is the problem - it's missing!! Thanks for replying.

Freelander 1 Temperature in the back

Am I alone in having passengers who whinge about how cold it is in the back seats? I've tried turning the heating up, all the different combinations of direction settings, and while the front seat passenger and I are close to collapsing from heat stroke, it's still apparently cold in the back...

Freelander 1 Tailgate glass - summary of knowledge?

And remind me (being lazy and saving time looking in other threads!) do I need to take the regulator mechanism and motor out to do the cable replacement? You're a star!

Freelander 1 Tailgate glass - summary of knowledge?

So the whole regulator assembly will need removal, and renovation or replacement, as per the picture threads elsewhere on the Zone? Thanks for your help!

Freelander 1 Tailgate glass - summary of knowledge?

Thanks Nodge. The spring on my tensioner is very much less compressed that your picture. Suspect that might be indicative of my issue. I'll do the tests later.

Freelander 1 Tailgate glass - summary of knowledge?

OK, bit of an update. Took the handle out and one of the little springs was rusty and *had* snapped, but the other one was fine and giving sufficient tension. Took off the door card and the "waterproof" film. Disconnected the connector on the microswitch/solenoid and stuck my avo electrodes in...

Plenty for me to work on there, so much appreciated!

Freelander 1 Tailgate glass - summary of knowledge?

Thanks Juzza. Did it just pack up after working normally for ages, rather than getting worse gradually?

Freelander 1 Tailgate glass - summary of knowledge?

Thanks - i'll see if I can operate it manually once I have taken the flap off, if that is how it works! Will keep you posted.

Freelander 1 Tailgate glass - summary of knowledge?

Thanks Nodge - really helpful. I might start with the springs - when you say "nothing more than a screwdriver", this would be used for getting the door panel off as well? Cables: is the term "nce" a bit of vernacular, or a typo? :o) Cheers

Freelander 1 Tailgate glass - summary of knowledge?

Yes, it's this old chestnut again, and I've looked through all the previous threads, but was hoping to perhaps get a bit more clarity on what parts are in the system to ID what has gone wrong. So my window isn't dropping enough to clear the channel when I activate the tailgate handle (2006 TD4...

    Colour-coded rear bumpers

Hi all Apologies for prolonged absence, and if this question has been answered elsewhere, but I have done a search and can't find owt. So, my much-beloved has gone and scraped the offside rear quarter of my facelift against a concrete post and gouged the colour-coded part of the bumper to the...

    Vibrations at 50mph upwards

I had similar symptoms (really low-down rumble coming in at about 50, going at about 55, then noticeable again at 70, so bloody annoying), which stayed when depressing the clutch, so clearly something drive train or maybe wheel-bearing related. Thought it might be VCU, so swapped front (newer)...

    Mpg only 19 ???????

50 quid equates to approx 34 litres, or 7.5 gallons. 220 miles from 7.5 gallons is about 28 mpg, not 19.

    Facelift

I was going to comment that you are not very likely to find a scrapped Freelander 2, other than maybe one that's been totalled ...
  18. IanSG19

What engine is your Facelift Freelander?

Here's your first then Ian! Must've been languishing in some showroom/airfield for a while pre-reg, I guess.

What engine is your Facelift Freelander?

I'd need to see the condition before committing!!:D
