Difference between hard top and station wagon roof

Unrelated, but you have odd sides on yours. They're like s3 88 sides. They have a vertical, umm, bar / plate externally at the c pillar position. Later builds just have a fold there. I'm thinking about how the seal is held on my 110. I don't remember a lip, but I guess it must have one. I...

    300tdi ticking

The (probable mug) who mentioned "new engine" - What did they say was wrong with it? So many things can create a ticking on the 300. Most are external to the block itself and can easily be changed or adjusted.

Thinking of moving to the world of landy and getting a Defender 110

You need to be one of two groups of people to own a 110 - Either - A) rich, or B) mechanically able You can be from both groups. But if you are in neither, you will run into troubles.

    Seat belt bolt/fitting kit

Ive had some tube things (which are probably the spacers in your photo) knocking about here for ages, wondering what they were (they're part of my 110 300tdi station wagon, but I couldn't work out what) They must be somthing to do with the c post high level mount, as the lower belts are still...

    Rattling 300tdi engine

Im assuming you mean longitudinal play, rather than rotational play, as it will be keyed away. Does the manual lever on the fuel lift pump still feel like it should do? I have a (real life) friend whos lift pump managed to shed its internal arm into the sump somewhere. Although manipulating...

306 DEF engine bay fuse box AMR1637 Is that the one that always breaks? The one with the maxi fuses in it? ...the one that i have hanging off some cable ties at the moment?

Tax + MOT exemption... I'm confused!

It's updated yearly. It's also based on the build date, rather than the registration date (which matters for some ex mod stuff, like my 101) but you have to prove it in the right way then... You still have to apply for tax each year (which, I assume, checks the insurance database) but the...

    TD5 block heater

Themotops are available from scrapped people carriers. I forget the details but you need to get a non can bus one. Ive had them off, umm, seat something or other before. I've currently got two working ones and one for parts. I think my total spend has been £25. But a fair bit of effort...

    TD5 block heater

I don't know how the td5 works, but webasto thermotop units are sensible on other engines.

Loads of slack in power train - diffs?

So, a while back, when i went for mot, the tester (who is into landrovers) pointed out the rotational play, and suggested new flanges. I did them, with little effect, and then looked at videos of the movement between the flange and the shaft (ie how the splines worked together) and mine were no...

Loads of slack in power train - diffs?

Update - A friend was over with his 110 300tdi today. We jacked up one rear wheel of mine and measured (by eye) the rotational play and then did the same to his, and compared. Mine was at least double to 3x what his was. There was no visible movement on the prop at all, which would mean that...

Heated seat kits for 300tdi era defender seats...

We have a freelander 2 and a 300 110 csw. My partner uses the freelander, which is expensive to move about, expensive to fix, never works properly, and is generally hateful. It is, however, comfortable. Im attempting to jazz up the defender some, so as she will use that, and, ultimatly, the...

Heated seat kits for 300tdi era defender seats...

Thank you On top of the cubby is fine. I just dont want to be propping it up with one hand, whilst trying to hook out the battery (etc) with the other. That said, i do find the heated seats make me feel like ive wet myself. Ive not wet myself since i was probably 6 years old, but the...

Heated seat kits for 300tdi era defender seats...

I can't tell from looking at britpart (etc) photos - Those seats kits where you get the back and seat base pads - are they all hard wired together? I like to get the seat base off for access, and I'm not even that bothered about heat there. I'm wondering about not fitting that pad, but does...

Fitting YRM extended second row floor upstand

Can you just cut yours down with a grinder? I mean the new part, not the car... Trim off all the extra stuff to make it like the original?

Fitting YRM extended second row floor upstand

youre miles away, but all it is is a length of alloy with a couple of folds. i think it cost me way less than yrm wanted for the same (which is fair, as theyre retail, whilst, i guess, my price was just costs)
