    S3 109 Safari project......

I'm sure you will be driving about in no time, assuming you can find where you put all the bits 😀. As you say it's the prep that takes most of the time, so hopefully it will be downhill from here on 👍

    S3 109 Safari project......

My 109 is waiting for me to finish the chassis and rebuild her. Although she was always intended as a retirement project, and I'm busy porting and polishing a new cylinder head for my 300 TDI pick-up after the head gasket started to go. However we're about to shopping in Gigi the 1974 S3, and...

300tdi Two Different Head Gasket Designs?

I know this is an old thread but... I just bought a bare complete cylinder head from Turner engineering. It came with a 3 hole gasket, and my original one looks like a no hole gasket. So I may give them a shout. Good to know they're as well regarded as YRM, whole I've used often 👍

    300Tdi Headgasket - thickness

I know this is an old thread, Reading as I'm replacing my head due to blown gasket. Exhaust gas bubbling out of expansion tank. But my Land Rover manual does state... Head can only be skimmed up to 8 thousands of an inch max and that then the valves must also be taken in the same. But a problem...

    S3 109 Safari project......

I've tried Tig filling but there's too much absorbed junk, but I have found the aluminium repair rods that you use a propane plumbers gas torch to fill holes and do quite good repairs on the aluminium. I've even filled a hole in the gearbox bell housing with them, and the finished result was...

Sorry to hear your loosing your garage. There's nothing to motivate like a deadline 👍 3 months restoring the chassis on my 300 TDI upside down in the wind and the rain, because my garage is too low to get any Landy in, which has me really appreciating working inside or at a better time of the...

That sounds like a job to do 👍 The tools are all untouched for decades by the looks of them, so it may be a good thing to give them a clean up and service thanks

Tow hitch height versus horse box issue (Defender 110 2011)

My caravan on a knott chassis sits level with a towball height of 350mm. So I'm in the process of fitting the adjustable Tow Hitch, and replacing the original lower angle iron supports, since the original ones have become weaker with rust. With the adjustable Tow Hitch drop mount you should get...

    Defender Tow bar comparability

I just so happen to have removed the Original tow assembly from my 1997 300TDI Pick-Up truck Peggy. I have the adjustable drop plate from a series to fit instead of the original tow ball which doesn't stick out far enough for my anti-sway coupling on the caravan. It's also too high for my needs...
