    seat belt fixings

my inertia reel seat belts aren't mounted on the pillars - they run over the rear bulkhead, with the top part below shoulder height - will see if I can get a pic at some point

    alternator upgrade?

belt is tightened now :) but i'd still like some more electrickery, more aux heating is required to keep the ice off the inside! I'm assuming mine is one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Series-3-2-6-Petrol-Alternator-35-Amp-RTC3845-/370704807337 - which is 35amp - no wonder I'm...

    are you lot ready ??

I've got my rad partially blocked, hat and gloves, cheapo fan/heater keeping my side of the windscreen vaguely de-iced and it's still freezing, after the 5 mile commute it is just about warmer inside than out :) watching the fuel gauge go down and thinking about the price of petrol keeps me...

    alternator upgrade?

Hiya is it possible to get a higher output alternator for my S3, 2.6 under full electrical load - lights, heater, wipers and 20amp heater (for demisting enough to drive :D ) the fan belt is slipping and squealing a lot, and the indicators flash really slowly - charge light isn't coming on...

2.6 water pump - is there an overflow?

back together with the new pump, and not leaking yet! temp gauge is now reading at the top of the scale, all the time (even when stone cold), do I assume this means the sender is stuffed? cheers

2.6 - too rare to tdi? thoughts please!

I can't afford the fuel either :D and as my only vehicle that's an issue, I may have a see whether anyone wants it, and chop a 4 around instead! it's a shame, as it's lovely to drive, and sounds great, but needs must when the devils biting your bum...

2.6 - too rare to tdi? thoughts please!

I looked at the issues with the tdi conversion for the six pot, and it seemed OK to me - the issue really is should I chop a genuine 6 pot about! I checked when I bought it and it is original, but don't really know how rare they are, or how desirable

2.6 - too rare to tdi? thoughts please!

so, I have a S3 109 2.6, with a fairly worn motor, and a LPG conversion (when it works) currently it's fairly useless motor wise - keeps breaking, parts are hard to find, and expensive when you can find them, but it's a solid old bus, and could be made good again, but... ... with the 2.6 it's...

2.6 water pump - is there an overflow?

my new theory is that rover were experimenting with worm holes in the space/time continuum, got it wrong and ended up with a pointless hole in the 2.6 water pump.... I'm thinking that I cooked it a bit (OK a lot) getting home after the rad went, and this bolloxed the seal. putting the new...

2.6 water pump - is there an overflow?

what's the little hole under the bearing housing bit for then? it was leaking from there when hot, but not when I ran it cold with the fan belt off....

    any1 used CE-Lit in a series rad?

I thought I had a good rad too! still might be, I pressured it up again yesterday and it wasn't leaking this time, but got all sorts of issues, the bloody water pump is leaking now (as per the other post) and I had it re-conditioned a couple of months ago I've used K-Seal on the old rad, it...

2.6 water pump - is there an overflow?

ta very much what could of caused this is the next daft question - could the system be over pressuring somehow? I have a 2.25 rad in atm, with some 'modifications' to the return pipework to the pump to get it to fit..... I actually picked up a 2.6 water pump on ebay yesterday, for less than...

2.6 water pump - is there an overflow?

Hiya my water pump is leaking from what looks like a drain / overflow hole in the base - and on the diagram in the manual it sort of looks like there is a hole....! is this the case? looks like the carbon ring and seal on the spindle are supposed to stop the water coming out of this - which...

    any1 used CE-Lit in a series rad?

about to try this as a last resort, before buying a new rad that I can't afford! anyone used it? any good? cheers Terry

Radiator - 2.6 petrol is it the same as a 2.25 petrol?

I've gone for the 2.25 rad, bought some nice shiny ally pipes and run the outlet up, then back across the rad to the water pump - 3 s3 top hoses and one bottom hose (not on the bottom of course!) and £12 of pipes, plus a decent 2nd hand rad - about £50 quid all in, so I'm happy will all be...

    anyone put a 90 rad into a series 3?

hiya anyone done this? or isn't it possible? I can have my grotty paws on a 90 rad later today, and this could save me a wad of cash that I don't have! :( I can get the 2.6 rad re-cored, but thats going to take days, and cost, so this could keep me mobile until I can sort it properly cheers...

Radiator - 2.6 petrol is it the same as a 2.25 petrol?

I am seriously beginning to think it would easier and cheaper to bin the whole 2.6 and replace it with something that actually works properly and that you can get parts for! I have an option on a 2nd hand 2.25 rad that will plumb in with a bit of fiddling, that should get me through the winter...

Radiator - 2.6 petrol is it the same as a 2.25 petrol?

Paddocks same price.... so, can I get away with bolting any other rad into the old chicken shed, stock 2.25 for instance? can't see that it would make a lot of difference, apart from maybe needing different hoses for the top and bottom, and I was going to replace them anyway cheers Terry
