It’s a pity it’s restricted. You could drive from Kemble all the way to Sherston where the road became surfaced.

If it’s a genuine charity expedition, I would have thought some corporate sponsorship in the form of a vehicle would be more appropriate. It’s optimistic to expect someone to gift a vehicle.

Given the resources of the RN, are they supplying a vehicle and other logistics? I’m a cynic at the best of times, but it’s a big ask for a stranger to give or loan a vehicle to a group of strangers for such a purpose.

It’s a cursory word of warning once he starts poking around underneath. It doesn’t take too long for paying someone to weld before a significant part of the cost of a new chassis is reached. But yes, the finances will dictate what action is taken.

The rot is always worse than it first appears, especially when you start poking… As a minimum, I’d look at a rear quarter chassis. Would you consider a galvanised chassis? It would be a better bet in the long run.

I picked up a slow puncture on Friday. I can’t get it fixed until Tuesday due to availability of the local tyre place so I’ve been pumping it up daily. 🙄
