Axles and Wheels - Which Type?

Didn't the width of the hockey sticks change at a certain year? Also swivel bearings went from Bush to bearing, both front axle related.

    P38 heater o-rings: draining tips?

You can buy a nissens matrix that has the 19mm outlets for a better job but more expensive. I got one with the 19mm because I thought my seals had gone again but it was just a loose bolt. Mines still on the shelf in the workshop. In two minds as to sell it or not but I can get the part number...

Axles and Wheels - Which Type?

Rear is a Salisbury so that's good. id is on the top axle tube if I recall but it's been a while and it's hard to see without wire brushing the cack off.

P38 new problem with abs and traction fault

Windscreen and under the roof rail inserts. Windscreen side trims off, top screen trim off, roof rail inserts off and reseal the screen and, usually, just the front roof rail 'groove'. Sealant cracks there.

    P38A Soundproofing bonnet with asbestos?

When I was young around 1981 I worked in a factory that made under bonnet insulation panels for cars and lorries. All of them were made using damp resin fibreglass and cloth and hot pressed to mould them. I suspect they are all made from those materials.

P38A Reverse lamp, electrickery knowledgeable peeps, what do you think?

In fairness , possibly it will reappear as I didn't go for a run last night as the wife got a lift home from a work mate. So I only switched ign on, selected reverse, took a pic, ign off, didn't start the engine at all. Possibly that had something to do with it as I only recall seeing the...

P38A Reverse lamp, electrickery knowledgeable peeps, what do you think?

I've got 2 sockets, the one in the pic with the white cover is the one I used. I 'believe ' that is the older version of twin sockets when wanting to tow a caravan, run a fridge. I think nowadays that a single socket is used with 13(?) Pins to do the same job but I'm just guessing. The white...

P38A Reverse lamp, electrickery knowledgeable peeps, what do you think?

Job done. The lamp has very short leads so these needed extending about 6". I had a bit of 2 core in my 'I'll keep that, might be useful one day' box so that was soldered and heat shrink wrapped and poked through the rubber socket franger, bit tight but it went through. Terminals used are...

P38A Reverse lamp, electrickery knowledgeable peeps, what do you think?

I think the wiring would be OK , i was just concerned about the becm handling it without getting grumpy. I intend wiring it to the aux caravan socket which has reverse wiring in it so that will be fine. I might refit the old reverse bulbs to get rid of the message and fit the led ones in me...

It came today then left again as I wasn't in, bugger. I'll go to the depot tomorrow and collect it , stretch the p38s legs a bit, dual carriage way all the way for 6 miles.

    200tdi clutch slip

Take the little cover off and, with a helper, there should be a little movement of the pedal before the pushrod moves, that's it basically.

Ordered the above lamp after having a quick look at the other socket I have on the back. Not sure what it's for even though I replaced it 3+ years ago because it was already there but rusted out. Its got a white coloured spring cover rather than the black that the other socket has and the black...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

All too common now. 'Luckily' my evri guy leaves stuff around the back for us, no knock, no card, I just have to check every morning at his favourite place if I'm expecting something. Only yesterday I heard a knock at the door, took me 10 secs to open it to see a crappie van with no signage...

    P38A P38 2.5DSE 1999 Electrical niggles

@h1tchiker All fairly common faults and have been covered lots of times on here and other p38 sites so a search for range rover p38 blend motors should bring up lots of info. I've done the drivers side heater motor without removing the dash ɓut not the passenger side as that's OK. Removing the...
