He didn’t say what the charge voltage was but I’ll ask him in the morning. I took him to mean that this fuse was in the fuse box under the bonnet. All should be more clear in the morning.

I don’t think it’s ever had a tow bar fitted, certainly no signs of one. I haven’t picked the car up yet, only spoke to garage. I’ll find out in the morning and post pics. Thanks for the reply.

Took car to auto electrician today. Alternator fine. They’ve found a 50 amp fuse under the bonnet that’s creating a massive drain continuously and appears to do nothing. . If the car starts tomorrow and everything seems ok I’ll leave it out but has anyone heard/seen anything like this? The...

On the subject of ordering a new battery, I've been online to order the Hancook, as that was recommended on here for me last time, and I can't find one anywhere. What other makes are recommended? I want a good battery that will hopefully last a bit longer than my last two.;)

All relays back in and battery disconnected and on charge. I'll check readings tomorrow lunchtime. One thing I did notice when disconnecting the battery was the clamp on the negative terminal, while not slack, wasn't exactly tight. I'll get the clamps changed once the battery problem is solved.

I've just checked my battery that I thought was kaput and it's showing 14.46V. That's made my day, hopefully get a few more years out of it.

Had a look and sure enough they're exactly where you said they'd be. I took Nos 4 and 5 out and give them a good looking at. Not knowing what they are or what they do was a slight impediment to my inspection. I'll order 2 new ones and, fingers crossed my problems are all behind me.;)
