    just thought i would give it a go,what do i need? can it be done properly at home or does it need proffessional equipment,training, i have changed heads before,stripped petrol engines,not really got that involved with diesels,but i can read and follow instructions,so am willing to give it a go...

    this imo is unacceptable a pump should last 200,000 miles at117,000 it should not be fooked,mine is not far off 124,000 bosch unavailable to comment referred back to range rover(surprise surprise)

    at last i have the problem diagnosed and firmly points at the fip not so much pump as electronics in pump,but because of the labour charge wouldn't be worth changing the electronics and also it is quite tricky to do apparently,revving to destruction was mentioned among physics and weird...

    hi as the title suggests difficulty in removing air from system,do you just need to crack one injector,or bleed the clear pipe and the injectors,or injector.

    thankyou for that info,i did it the hard way as i wanted to clean the tank out,fair bit of crud in there,and didn't want that sludge to be picked up by the new pump.

    hi just replacing the in tank pump,the amount of crud around the bottom of the pump it is a wonder it ran at all,bought a new pump,can i just put the new pump in and away you go or will it need re sync? the tank will be cleaned out too before i put it back on.

    2.5 diesel warm starting - I hesitate to raise this issue again, but....

    everything is always pointing at the fip,this is not always the case,however in high mileage vehicles 200,000 miles + i would expect fip wear,but around 100,000 miles that is not really acceptable,however any diesel specialist worth his salt should be able to time the pump up or adjust to take...
