Ha ha you know what I meant ;) The road noise is quieter and the whine has all but gone... I thought it was a Thrust bearing but it might not be now.

So I had 4 new tyres fitted this morning. It seems the winning noise i noticed which was quite prominent has reduced to the point where I can't hardly hear it..... Feels and drives great now :):)

after doing the first oil change on the td4 I noticed there is no undertray. I'm not sure how quick I can get one. how vital is it?

Whilst doing a service on my newly acquired td4sport I noticed as the engine was running with the top covers off, oil was spitting out of the left screw pot (nearest the oil filler cap) is this normal?

Done.... Oil, oil filter, crankcase filter, pollen filter and that little pod filter thing... Started her up and given her a run. She sounds good. One thing I did notice though was....... There is no undertray!!??? I'm assuming someone has thought its easier to leave it off? Got to try...

I thought i purchased the correct oil when i got this castrol gtx 5w30 A1 part synthetic for diesel and petrol engines from asda the other day on a deal. however reading some forums it seems its meant to be fully snythetic?

yeh its a td4. it was just an aliminium plate i cut to shape. ill have a look at the blanking kits

What can I use to block it off there? It's only a small 3inch or so round pipe is that right?

I tried blanking the egr valve off with a plate made to fit. I blocked it off at the point the egr meets the body. Just a plate between. Put it all back together tried starting and she wouldn't start. She just ticks over as if there was no fuel etc.... I took the plate out and she started...

Since reading this and doing some research Iv decided not to buy used tyres, instead Iv ordered 4 accelera tyres. It's the best I could afford. £350 for 4...... Done some research and they look a good budget tyre
