Yep, I can't imagine how frustrating it is to be stuck behind us, belching out black smoke. My 3rd gear synchro is bu**ered too, so changing down is a delicate process. Got to match the revs perfectly.

Yeah, not even downhill. 60mpg seems to be the ideal cruising speed, although I'm quite frustrated at how quickly my 90 slows down on hills.. dropping down to third gear on a hill is always needed.

Evening all, Read about Powerlite starter motors in one of the landy mags this month. The chap was fitting one to his 90 as they're smaller and more powerful than normal. Was thinking of upgrading my original 2.5NAD starter to a TDi Starter anyway, but wondered if anyone's tried these...

Headgasket maybe. If you leave the engine running with the bonnet up and walk about 100 yards away from the vehicle, in the direction it's facing, what do you hear - a puff or a knock? Run your hand round the head gasket you might feel it puffing out somewhere, usually round the back.

You'll probably find the old 12J isn't torque-y enough for the gearbox either. I'd go for a complete 200Tdi conversion, TB and GB too.

Genuine windscreen seal is the only way to go. There was a how to in one the Landy mags a month or two ago, which said the same thing.
