I'd look at putting a 200Di (200 tdi with out the turbo) or a 300Di (300tdi engine with out the turbo) engine in your series. Plenty on the net about how to do the conversion :) Sounds like your gearbox could need a rebuild. Can be done your self or budget around £400 for a rebuild...

Your budget should get you a reasonable series with a 12 month ticket. You will get a bit more for your money if you go for a series 3. The prices usually jump up quite a bit when you venture in tax exempt money. I would advise going for the petrol. Much nicer to drive than the disel. I...

I'm guessing it's just an off white. I've just had a look at the limestone white paint. Seems to be available as a Matt or satin furnish. Was the original limestone paint a satin finish? Matt white sounds a bit nasty for wheels.

I'd say that was a good price. I have seen them go for £300 on ebay! However, I have one on my diesel and I spent a lot of time trying to fnd the series I wanted with OD and I I'm not that convinced. I recon its worth about another 10-15mph and it makes it a bit quieter, but thats about it...

I think the 2A had the 'razor' edged bonnet as standard and some early 3s had it, but the later series threes all had the round edged bonnet. I thought the delux bonnet was the one that had the spare wheel well on top of it and was available in series 2A and series 3?

I'd agree with that. I decided to go for origainl rather than other cars that had been no less that three different colours in their lives! Also some 200tdi conversions are much better than others!

They have a very similar tread pattern to the Maxxis Mudders. Hence why I am after them for my recently aquired series 3. I had Maxxis Mudders on my old Pajero and they were great. I didn't find them noisly on the road at all :confused:

Afternoon! On friday, I picked up my first ever Land Rover. I've wanted a Land Rover for over 20 years. This one is a 1983 diesel and its got Fairy Overdrive and disco steel wheels running BFG ATs and thats it for the optional extras. It also came with the original steel wheels and tyres too...
