Are theese 88 or 109 wheels?

Fair point. I'm not settled on what I am doing with the suspennsion. I know I need some new shocks as mine are looking pretty bad. Following a bit of reading on here, my springs are curreny wrapped in jumpers and soaked in petrol and grease. I'm hoping that should free them up a bit. Will...

Are theese 88 or 109 wheels?

I was trying to get the look of the tall 750 tyres originally fitted. I did look at going down the 235/85 route, but I saw a friend's series fitted with those and they just looked too big and also he suffered from rubbing as he was running standard height springs and shocks. They were also a bit...

Are theese 88 or 109 wheels?

Thanks for the info. This is starting to turn into a bloody nightmare now. I actually chose the 205/80s based on advice that I read on this forum and from the John Craddock site. Not your fault obviously. Just getting a bit frustrated that I could now 5 tyres and 5 wheels that don't go...

    Fitted Paddocks soundproofing

Neither did I. It sounds ideal though! I don't really want to put a full carpet set in my series due to to the fact that it will just get damp and mouldy after a few rain falls.

Are theese 88 or 109 wheels?

Thanks very much for this. I've actually got tyres waiting for my wheels sat on the garage floor. The wheels are also at the garage too. Mine is 1983 SWB. I'm hoping what ever I have will be alright for the tyres I have got. I did do a search on the John Craddock site based on model of...

    Valves/tubes question

OK, thanks for all the info. I left the wheels at the garage. I may go and look at them again on Tuesday and measure the hole for the valve. The wheels previoulsy ran with inner tubes and I thre them away. Doh! I can see me buying another 5 inner tubes if I cant get the wheels/tyres to run...

    Valves/tubes question

Good afternoon. Went down to local garage to get my 205/80 Insa Turbos fitted to my freshly refurbished series steel wheels. I didn't have valves in wheels as the previous garage who removed them and binned them after they took the tyres off. They also ditched the inner tubes as they...

    Series 3 needs winch

Anything from £100 to £200 for the roof rack and £50 for the ladder. They do come up on eBay every now and then. You can also sell it using the for sale section on here. Might be worth be keeping, as they are desirable accessories.

I've found my dream Land Rover!

I also prefer that colour. However, the coniston green is still lovely :) Seeing photos like thatreally encourage me to sort out the bodywork on mine.

    Low range

Does it do that on idle or do you have to use the hand throttle? Haven't been brave enough to stick my Series in low yet! Been too busy repairing bits!

    Discovery Steel Wheel

Land Rover DIscovery Steel Wheel This was taken off my 1984 Land Rover Series 3 88in. Its been painted Land Rover Limestone at some point and it has faded a little. Its straight apart from a very sluight ding (see photo), but it really is tiny and not worth worrying about. When I was using...

Discovery Steel Wheel with Bridgestone AT Tyre (9mm tread)

Land Rover Discovery Mk1 Steel Wheel fitted with a Bridgestone AT (All Terrain) tyre I've have just taken this off my 1984 Land Rover Series 3 88in. The tyre is a 225/75/16 and is in very good condition. It has approximatly 9 to 10mm of tread left. I'm sure you all know that Bridgestone AT...

    Why white?

beuty is in the eye of the beholder. Colour is a personal thing. Get over it. I think the RR Evoque, Disco 3/4 and the RR look great in white. Not a colour that suits the RR classic though.

    handpainting

I've read your tutorial. It was very good :) I'll be doing mine next year. Don't want to be doing it in the winter as the colder temperatures will make it harde for the paint to dry properly. I'd like to do mine witha proper spray gun and a compressor as i believe they are more economical...

    Front or rear locking diff?

Have you put any reasearch into this at all?? I would add strengthened half shafts if you are putting a locker in. I have to admit, I didn't know that lockers broke CV joints. I looked into this and I came to about £800 in parts for locker kit before I fitted it or someone else fitted it :(

Use search on this forum or google 'hand painting a car'. Plenty of good sites including this one will come up. I have a few saved as favourits, but not on this PC.
