Water in sump, block AND rocker case!!!!!!

Hi Guys, A little history to my tale of woe... Series 2a with a 2.5NA 14J engine. The engine has not started for eleven years. When I got it one of the core plugs was missing. Replaced core plug, fitted new glow plugs, fresh diesel and a big new battery ;) Cranking the engine and it was...

    Timing belt - oil leak

You may want the "F" mark if your 2.5NA is from a Freight Rover/LDV 300 van. Check your engine number to see if it starts with a 14J

    Name the Gasket

Well picture number two are the fuel injection pipes. Or to be more precise the injection nozzles. There is an "O" ring under each nozzle that may be worth changing. Picture one I can't quite make out but Landy Zone members are like buses. Wait a couple of minutes and another one will be along...

Engine cross member SWB, LWB difference?

Well I guess someone has to ask... which crossmember? Engine, gearbox, main crossmember with hole for power take off etc etc. Until you get to the last one, the rear crossmember. ;););););)

To spring or not to spring - 11 or 9!

My bad, by shagged I mean that they are pretty rusted together, bending the wrong way and the clamps are open. The military aspect is interesting as although I believe the Landy is a civvy it does have a military rear crossmember. If 9 is original then I guess it's OK to put 9s on especially...

To spring or not to spring - 11 or 9!

Hi, I have a 1968 Series 2a with headlights inside not on wings. All the springs are 11 leaf. The rears are shagged so need replacing. I have been offered a set from a SWB but these are 9 leaf! Anyone know what is standard? It's a SWB with a tilt and a 2.5 Freight Rover diesel. Now no...

    New (and impressed) Landy owner!

Welcome Mrs Hammers :welcome: Just remember to ALWAYS let the gaylander warm up first before applying power. No thrashing from cold cos' they don't like it. Now the thing is with LZ you are always going to get some, well shall we say "interesting" replies when you admit to being a galander...

    lack of power

So to fix the poor starting was that when you had to fix the wiring?
  13. UK_Landy

    lack of power

Oh and also check there is not any stray voltages on the outside of the gearbox. Gearbox to chassis earth's are also worth looking at. :)

    lack of power

I had a similar problem with a Japanese import Pajero. Turned out to be an electronic valve in the gearbox. I know you have changed the box but I would be thinking along the lines of the message from the engine management system not getting to the gearbox. Maybe a problem with the torque...
