I havent got the three amigos but its still bad!

Right then... Repaired the dash with new leds (5mm high intensity yellow leds. Voltage range of leds used min 1.8v to 2.4v - 2v typical) and all voltages read correct on the dash pcb now and have droped from 10.4v open circuit to 1.9v with the led installed and iluminated. I now have the 4...

I havent got the three amigos but its still bad!

Yep thats what you could do if it hadnt been a private sale. Buyer beware! To be honest I dont know when it was done and if the previous owner (The 2nd owner) of nearly four years knew or not but even so she has only covered an average 8000 miles a year with all mots and main dealer history upto...

    rear diff

number of splines would only effect the half shafts rather than the prop I would have thought but I might be wrong. your 300 diff should be a 24 spline one but as for which prop you would need I have no idea. Just go to main stealer for the rubber donut as the cheep aftermarket ones are less...

I havent got the three amigos but its still bad!

thanks sierrafery. Im fully expecting the three amigos when the new leds are fitted but at least I can then tell when I change a component if its sorted when the lights go out or not. Im thinking abs sensor as the sls bulb is still in and throws a fault light on when going quickly round a corner...

I havent got the three amigos but its still bad!

Hi, I bought a 99 td5 auto disco 2 last Friday and shortly after realised the HDC, TC and ABS light didnt light up on ignition to self test... should have realised before purchacing... oh dear. Checked all the fuses relays etc which are fine so today I removed the dash and rather than bunging up...

engine mount removal how the "FK?"

Remove the rubber mounts first to give yourself more access. You could get onto the rubber mount with an open ended spanner with the engine out. I still rember it being a bit of a faff and recall having to bend a cranked ring spanner to a steeper angle to get a bit of a turn on the metal engine...

    new lift kit fitted

Cheers Laf. Ive heard the traction track are good tyres and Ive run insa mountains on a v8 disco and a 300tdi which I was more than happy with. Are the tractions as noisy as mud tyres or are they more all terain sounding cos I do a fair few miles on road and play when I get the chance (not as...

    Retrofit PAS...?

What makes it a nicer drive? The 30 degrees of slack or the pas :D:D:D

    Retrofit PAS...?

This is somthing im going to be looking into when Ive sorted all the other bits and got her a mot. I think the pas box from a 200tdi is a straight fit but as for the pas pump and other gubbins that would be engine dependant I would imagin. No doubt there are a load of people on here that have...

    Another 2" lift thread :)

I have recently aquired a +2" lift kit with shocks springs bushes etc. After getting it all home and standing the springs on the floor next to each other I noticed that 2 of the springs are slightly shorter than the other 2. The kit is pre used with no instructions and I dont know if its longer...

    Discovery soft top?

Other than the rear seat belts mounting points high up near the roof I cant see many problems with the actual removal of the roof and sides but should imagine making a frame and hood for it would be a bit of a bugger.

    Exhaust manifold nuts 300Tdi

    cat converter

If its a petrol engine and registered before 1 Jan 1993 (I think) then you can get away with not having a cat but any time after that it will need the cat as it is a testable part of the emissions test. I think rimmer bros do all the exhaust bits and will probably sort you out with a cat. If its...

    Track rod ends

Did mine in a vice with a blow torch and a ring spanner on the tapered sticky outey trackrod end bit. Once you count the turns to undo em put em back the same then if you have a haynes it tells you the measurement between track rod centres. Mine drove nice and straight after I'd done.
