    lpg or diesel

V8 Petrol on petrol is the best. Anything else is a compromise. How ever good an LPG conversion you get, you always have trouble of some description either now or a few years down the line. Plus you loose your boot size and you worry about where to fill it. I am not rich, but it's a nice...

    Bow Wave

It's a ford at Little Lawford. Just a mile or two west of Rugby. It is a bit scary on the first go because there is a bend and you cannot see the far side.

    Bow Wave

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this, but it's a RR so it should be ok. The water here looked quite deceptive. I'd been through a few days ago crossing myself and praying not to get stuck, but today I had a camera so I tried again. It looked deeper than before, but looking at...

    Thanks Hunter, received the files.

    VM or TDI ?

I was quite upset that my mates 3ltr Diesel Jeep is quicker to 60 than my V8 (On paper, never actually tried it or wanted to). I comfort myself by thinking that his turbo diesel is pushing itself hard where as my V8 is taking things leisurely and ultimately would last longer. I'm probably...

    VM or TDI ?

Me neither. Range Rovers are the ultimate in off-road luxury. If you have to ask how much, then you shouldn't buy one. Rolls Royce would never put a diesel in one of their cars. What is the point in having the opulence of the RR when it sounds like a tractor.

Very bouncy suspension for first few seconds P38

yeah. I would love to spend a day stripping the valve block down and cleaning it and renewing seals. I would not blindly spend hundreds on a new one if that was the fault. I went wading today and it went in to wading height quite quickly. I will have to get some soapy water around my front o/s...

Very bouncy suspension for first few seconds P38

How long is too long? I have read that the self leveling while parked can get confused, so I am not sure if I may have a leak or the odd positioning when parked is intentional. When I first got the car the o/s rear seemed low when parked. Then I parked the other way round in the same spot...

    Lamb under the bonnet?

I have a strange noise on my 4.6 P38. Whenever I brake or slow down I can hear what sounds like a distant bleating, as if a lamb was calling it's mother. It seems to be coming from under the bonnet. It will last for about 2 seconds. I presume this is normal, but am just interested to know what...

Very bouncy suspension for first few seconds P38

When I start it up in the morning and I drop down the curb the front of the car is extremely bouncy. When the front wheels hit the road it feels like something is forcing the front of the car back up. It is a very odd feeling. Is this because it's on the bump stops until it pumps itself up? I...

    Insurance

I went on their site on Friday to get a quote. I had three phone calls from one of their reps with the quote. I politely thanked him and said I would phone back when I am ready to insure. He suggested I take out the insurance there and then. I made excuses saying my debit card was at work and I...

    Wiring diagram

I need one too and had already looked through that workshop manual and it does not contain one. (Unless I am blind). It seems odd that there is not one in there. LR mechanics are not born with this knowledge. How do THEY repair electrical faults?

It's a 20ft caravan. About 1200kg I think. It has been quite windy round here today so that might have made a difference.

    Towing MPG 4.6

Hi, this morning I went to pick up a caravan from Birmingham. I got on the M6 at J3 with a warm engine and reset the computer. When I got off at J5 (Must be be about 12 miles) I had averaged 23mpg. I came home on the same bit of motorway and towing the caravan I averaged 15.9mpg. I was...

    You have to smile.

I've always loved that feature and it's taken me 15 years to be able to own a car that actually does it. I only have one remote key though, but I can still press the (1) or (2) and watch it do it's stuff :)

    Trouble free P38a's ?

Got mine this morning and not long after getting home I noticed I have an intermittent tailgate solenoid/switch. The previous owner must have known about it as there is a bit of string coming out of the left side of the lower tailgate. As I have an electrical background I am quite looking...

    Trouble free P38a's ?

I've owned a Volvo T5 for two years and never felt inclined to take a spanner to it. It just didn't feel like I would get any satisfaction from it, so I let others do it. I am hoping to do as much to the RR myself as I can. I can imagine getting actual pleasure from getting my hands dirty...
