When I rebuilt my S3 last year I took off a overdrive unit (fairy). It looked in pretty good shape. I removed it due to me running a stage 1 rear axle and RR diff. My thought process was stronger drivetrain overall. My S3 has a lot more power than standard, and so far gearbox is taking it...

Well I've done 300 miles on drive train, sailsbury diff and prop shaft services, prop is good. Simmonites rebuilt gearbox leaks like a seive, and sounds ****ed... ...mind you, sounded ****ed when I put it in!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blow through is biggest headache.... Figured I'd be going for a target for 5 PSI boost.... At this pressure, should be ok not to replace floats, Will replace pump jet, and change fuel pump for a higher pressure than Facet Gold Top. Not sure about sealing spindles, will suck it and see...

If its EFI is easier, but think about getting air in and out whats the manifold going to look like. Also where are you going to mount it, especially with efi... ...Typically they are mounted under carb, but that opens up the whole running "wet" debate, m112 are pretty notorious with petrol...
