Thx GrumpyGel for the info... unfortuantly i really am not mechanically minded and no garage can seem bothered to help over here. They just want to replace the clutch but i dont want to pay for that around £550 if thats not the problem. 1 Landrover specialist even said would cost £200 for them...

Yes very true, is the problem I’m having an issue that can happen only when the cars hot ? Just took it for a 20 min drive no noise at all and all gears changed fine ‍♂️ The only thing I did notice the clutch pedal seemed a bit grainy if that makes sense, I don’t know how else to describe it...

Thx for the messege, i just dont want to be stuck / broken down somewhere......... i also a light burning smell is comming from the lower part of the engine........ so not sure how safe or sensible it would be to still drive it

Thanks Nodge, I called a couple of Scrap Yard People have been offered £500 to take it to scrap not sure what its worth ?? i could put it on ebay i guesss ? i guess i can just put it on Auction with a reserve of £500 and if it goes for more than thats a bonus.....

Yeah i know, unfortunatly im usless with cars, so rely on a mechanic / garage and had a few quotes and all say the same thing, to be honest i just dont think they can be bothered by thier attitude :(

Hi Guys just an update i spoke to a freelander specialist and they have quoted over £1,000 to get this sorted and it could be more :( its something thats not feasible with this car..... so unfortuantly it looks like it will have to go to the scrapyard in the sky :( but i apprecaite you comments...

gearbox :( that sounds worse and more expensive :( and i dont think the gearbox oil level has ever been checked Just drove it again for a few minutes to check, and thier is defently a burning smell comming from rear of engine aswell
