Those welds are full of cold lap thats why its rolled and looks like bird****, id say about 40% of the welding is useless to be honest, if he is a computent welder he doesnt know how to set a plant up, choose the right size wire nor set the gas pressure, grind those welds flush and i bet you...

Cut some cardboard the width you want, stick them where you want them, stand back and have a look and you will know roughly what it will look like..... just a thought :)
