Cheers Bio, quality help there. When you say take the top off the transfer box what tools or method is involved as dont want to get halfway through and find i cant finish it! anything i could mess up easily when trying all this? cheers again

So then Pete, did you remove the centre console, drill the rivets out over the selector box, then heat the rods up where they enter the box? ps ive not drilled the cover over the box off mine yet so dont know what id see when i do! is it literally just the rods? Well Done Pete! lol

Picked up some side steps today with all the brackets, nuts and bolts etc but no instructions. I'm going to fit them tomorrow and after Reading on the net about how to fit them I'm a little unsure what the outriggers look like, or where exactly they are and it's too dark to look at the minute...

So don't 'tap' the diff lock/ hi and low lever to the left with a hammer then? Clutch in and moving at 0-5mph?

By braying it with a hammer do you mean the rods or the diff lock lever? Just iv heard some people not being able to re engage normal diff after getting it into diff lock

Ignorance won't wash with insurance companies, anyway they can get out of a claim they will, ask them for a quote before fitting, sometimes you'll be suprised and it will be free!

As above really, got my 1st disco but it's my everyday car and bit of fun which means I have to be sensible in it! Look inside oil filler cap for White sludge like mayonnaise, if it has that then water is mixing with your oil which is more than likely a head gasket fail. Also I believe you can have the head pressure tested which should show any seal/ gasket failures. Hope this helps
