    Series 3 Rear Suspension

Think I have found the answer to my problem. I found a photo which I took of the 109 the day I first bought it showing a full side view with the original springs and shackles still on it. It looked completely level from front to rear. I took a photo yesterday from the very same position and...

    Series 3 Rear Suspension

Sorry, Plastic dust cover = Cover over half-shaft nut in the centre of the steel wheel rim. Yes, Rubber buffer = Bump Stop. I replaced the complete original set of leaf springs and extended shackles with Parabolic springs and standard shackles last year. Got them from Craddocks, wounder if the...

    Series 3 Rear Suspension

Just one quick measurement. 23.5" from dead centre of plastic dust cover to highest point of wheel arch. 7.50-16 LT Tyres. Looking at your link, there appears to be a huge difference in the distance from the top of the flat plate on top of the axle and the base of the rubber buffer on the...

    Series 3 Hood.

Thanks. Could try that, however, I think that the material would need to be softened in order to be able to handle it better with any ease.

    Series 3 Hood.

Hi. The full length hood on my 109 FFR is torn at a few places along the seams which I was going to try and re-stitch, however, my main problem is that the canvas is no longer very pliable, in fact it is more like leather. Is it possible to soften the canvas prior to stitching. Regards. Chris.

    Series 3 Rear Suspension

Hi. I have a 1984 109 FFR and I want to try and lower the rear about 2". I have replaced the Extended Shackles with Std ones, but is still too high. Looking closely at it, I was thinking that if I moved the Shackles from the rear of the springs to the front of them it might do the trick. Is this...

    Freelander 1 Heater

Dont know, however, I have just come back from a run and the Temp Gauge reached midway after only a few miles from stone cold. Heater working spot on. As already mentioned, fantastic little motor. Hope to get many more years out of it.

    Freelander 1 Heater

No, very little. Was expecting more.

    Freelander 1 Heater

Flushed out the heater and all seems fine now. Thanks for all your advice.

    Freelander 1 Heater

Will flush it out and try that. Would always have only used Coolant, however, would have topped it up with just water if required. May have diluted the coolant a bit too much.

    Freelander 1 Heater

Rechecked the Temp Gauge this morning. Half way up after about 10 mins ticking over. Coolant level is fine. The top pipe going through the bulk head (with bleed screw) is only barley luke warm, the bottom pipe is stone cold. Coolant flowing freely at the bleed screw. Yes, the Freelander is...

    Freelander 1 Heater

Will do. Will check the Temp reading again tomorrow just to be sure. Heater was working fine until recently and I have it 12 years.

    Freelander 1 Heater

The dial seems the same as it always did. Excuse my ignorance, but what is FBH ?. Coolant level is normal.

    Freelander 1 Heater

Hi All. The heater on my 2001 Freelander 1 Diesel is not working. The Fan is fine and the Temp Guage goes about half way up. Where should I start looking for the problem. Regards. Chris.

    Unleaded Petrol.

Thanks for that. I had the same problem with a 1964 3TA. 109 is running like a clock, so will take your advice and leave well enough alone.

    Unleaded Petrol.

Not sure. Is there any way I can check.

    Unleaded Petrol.

Its ex British Army, so am pretty sure it would have been well looked after, I hope. I only use it at the weekends and cover about 100 miles at most each run. There is 76K miles on the clock but would have only about 1K miles approx on LPG. Overhauled the head about 6 years ago and have not had...

    Unleaded Petrol.

Is there any way of telling and would running it on LPG make any difference ?.

    Unleaded Petrol.

Hi, Is the Cylinder Head on a 1984 109 FFR modified for Unleaded Petrol. I am driving it on LPG most of the time. Regards. Chris.
