I have cut out a lot of the rot, but the more you look the more you find.
Check the drivers foot well and that is solid but will remove the floor as the whole seat box will need to come out if I am going to do the clutch as well.
Hi all
While I have a bit of time at home I thought I would do a few jobs on the 90 that I have been putting off. The passenger foot well is wetter than the river Avon and the clutch has been slipping for the last year, so here we go:
I would keep it to Caledonian blue as Land Rover intended - but i have got a thing about keeping the older defenders original as so many have been modded to death.
Mick start with the easy stuff, change the fuel filter first and then prime the system - see how it runs after that, it sounds like air in the system to me. is your pump overly loud?
Now Fixed!! it was air in the system - the filter housing had become pourous and snapped of the chassis when i went to remove the filter - i bought a GORE alloy fuel housing (which is a work of art) bleeded the fuel system and all is well again.
i think it could be fuel related along - re-bleed the system and she starts and runs well and will go up to 70 nicely - turn her off and the problem comes back - will change the filter and pos fuel pump
HALF FIXED!! after a few days she is still running smooth but no will not go over 50mph? if i push her to 50 the engine then runs like crap, what have i missed????
fixed! turns out it was the loom and oil at the ecu - it was running on 4 cylinders as on number three the two wires were not fully click into the conector.
now runs better then ever and a lot smoother than it was before.
hi all - my 110 Td5 lost power the other night - i still got home but it felt like it was miss firing. next drove to work and back and it was the same - an hour later i started it to go out and it ran for 30secs then cut out and wouldnt start. i have done the following.
new injector loom...
