Yes if I rev slightly before double clutching it seems to go in quite smooth...Ive got all the oil so will change that hopefully tomorow afternoon and post up my findings.Im guessing the oil is about due a change as when pretty cold the gearbox feels slightly notchy...so to speak,,no problem...

Just purchased oil for diffs/engine/gear box/transfer box so will change that and see how I get on,,,,when selecting reverse it basically feels like its not there,,it doesnt grind at that point (if that makes sense?)double/triple clutching before going into reverse and everything fine but it...

Just wondering if anyone can enlighten me on this problem,,My 87 landrover 90 sometimes wont go into reverse,,after letting the clutch out and in a few times it goes in fine with the occasional grinding but nothing to bad.some days its fine others it isnt,,,Its done this ever since Ive owned it...

Thats very similar but on myn the pipe comes off the spill rail to the top of the filter then from the same fitting on the top of the filter back to the fuel tank.The landrover is a 1987 2.5 td (19j engine),,,Your help is much appreciated

Thanks for info...Been to my local garage this morning and let him have a look as he mainly specializes in series 3 and early defenders.It seems to be sorted now as the gear changes is as smooth as before(no grinding etc into any gear)He said the same as me about a bit of air in the clutch...
