Leave it over night then try it again in the morning... if it takes a few pumps to prime the filter again then you have a leak somewhere and air is getting in.

Yeah... lift pump is the first place I'd look. Crack the bleed screw on the top of the filter and give the priming lever a few pumps in quick succession... if you don't get a good squirt of fuel with each then it's probably shafted.

Overheated the turbo? What did you do? Melt the fecker? I've had mine glowing bright enough to light the engine bay after dark before now using it for towing(dragging) a 3 tonne concrete roller across a muddy field. Very much doubt you got the turbo too hot just with a quick blat down a dual...
