Sounds like an overrun switch to allow you to run emergency lights etc without running the battery down. Touch the brake or clutch pedal and it cuts the engine off to stop it getting stolen. Emergency services use them.

I had the same issue and changed the sender unit for the defender one and it worked fine. Be aware there are different thread sizes on these so get the right one.

Hi and welcome. As for reliability and cost stick with the Japanese products. You will however become attached to a defender and in a sick sort of way start to enjoy keeping it going.

Wtf was wrong with the driving and the lanes. They are open to traffic so go and enjoy them. Nothing wrong as far as I can see.

Doesn't sound much to get it through the mot and is worth the money. Good luck with the sale.
