    Hardon kermit

I think my HK system sounds pretty naff to be honest, though I suppose it could be the Becker head unit, think I'll replace at some point.

    Mantec group purchase!

Do you have a link to the previous prices? I'd be tempted by a snorkel.

    Problem with parking sensors

Maybe I've read your post wrong, but you don't need to press the button to turn the sensors on, they come on automatically when you select reverse. Edit: Argh! The person above typed faster!

    Td4 fbh

I've been having similar thoughts - you can buy 12v remotes on eBay for peanuts. I thought if I put a switch in Pin3, it might fire it up without the engine being on?

    DIY Remote for FBH

With winter approaching it'd be great to be able to get into a warm car. Any idea how easy it'd be to wire in a switch which starts the FBH up without the engine running? (If I can get this working, I'll replace it with a remote switch later on).

How long does your TD4 take to get from 60mph to 70mph???

I'd have to drop it off a cliff for acceleration like that.....

How long does your TD4 take to get from 60mph to 70mph???

Just timed my '04 HSE, with an Alisport EGR bypass and with my preferred cocktail of Millers and two stroke (but otherwise standard), 60 to 70 in 5th about 5.1 seconds. Not the most scientific test, but interesting and it's good to see I'm in the same ballpark as most of you. P.S -...

    Discovery or FL2 ???

Will you get an FL2 for £3k and your FL1? I thought they were still quite pricey.

First the good news and then the good news...

Nice one EBT, think I'll do similar. No problems with the HK amp? Just plug and play?

Finally got it, now 2 queries in one !

These are the keys, they slot into the slots under the knobs and then the stereo pulls free (just to check we're talking about the same unit, it's the Becker 4745 I've got). You will need a code, if you're plugging it back in. The plugs on the back look like standard plugs to me, I'm just...

Hi EBT, yes the thin slots under the rotary controls are for removal keys, I bought some on eBay this week for a few quid. Are you replacing with a different HU?

Getting excited now - sat/nav removal

Hi, In an attempt to get music from my iPhone into the car I've tried the AUX input in the back of the Becker unit (replaces CD Changer), but it hasn't worked properly (iPhone only recognises the cable once after the Becker unit is plugged back in, after that it's dead). So, i'm going to...

Mine sounds a bit like Chewbacca when it first fires up. NNNNNNNNNNRRRRRRG!

Very happy with the new radio I fitted today .

Did you keep the HK amp? If so, are you using pre-outs (line out) on the new headunit? I'm worried that the amplified outputs on a headunit could blow the HK amp up. In an attempt to keep my life simple I've just bought a lead which is supposed to allow me to plug my iPhone into the Becker...

Getting excited now - sat/nav removal

Also interested in this for my '04 HSE. As I understand it the HK amp causes some complication when fitting a new head unit, it'd be interesting to hear from someone who has done it.

    Seized Handbrake

Hi. As I commute to work by train it's not unusual for my car to go unused for two or three weeks. This morning when I started the car and went to pull away I found that the rear passenger wheel was seized solid (and got dragged a good couple of feet). Eventually by rocking the car forwards...

help please on diesel fuel addetive

I run Millers and 2-Stroke, car is lovely and quiet, picks up a bit quicker and is a touch better on fuel. :)

    Good positive things about freelanders....

I've '04 TD4 HSE, I love it. Comfy, totally reliable (so far), economical and quick enough to keep up in the fast lane on the motorway while being quiet enough for a conversation. This coming from someone who had a 200tdi 90 for 2 years.

    Good positive things about freelanders....

My TD4 HSE was genuinely impressive in the snow over the last couple of days. It may lack the ground clearance, low ratio box and lockable centre diff of my old 90, but I genuinely think with the traction control it got just as much traction in slippery conditions. It was also a much nicer...
