Switching on Hazard Lights From Engine Bay

Maybe. I figured the drain on the battery by the hazards was pretty low? The remote switch provides 12v, so was just going to feed this to the hazards. Why so? Battery drain? I think the battery can run the FBH and hazards for a bit longer than while my car is warming up....?

Switching on Hazard Lights From Engine Bay

Hi, Can anyone think of an easy way to get to the 12v feed to the hazard lights from under the bonnet? I've got my FBH wired up to a remote, I'd like an obvious way of showing that it was turned on. Was thinking about supplying a feed to the hazard lights with the FBH remote switch. Running a...

    HSE Stereo & Parrot

Can't help I'm afraid, but if you do get confirmation, please do post back on here. I fancy a Parrot kit, but none of the fitters/installers I've spoken to want to go near the Becker/Harmon Kardon kit because of the added complication of the external amp.

    Spare wheel bike rack

I've got the Simbar rack too. Only problem is the bracket on mine is rusting away where the paint has been worn off by putting on and removing the rack.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Good: Fitted a remote to the FBH, nice and warm for the winter. Just need to work out how to get the interior fan to come on with the remote as well. Bad: Found that my top intercooler hose is covered in oil, think it's probably got a hole in it where it rubs on the intake manifold screw...

    Temporary FBH Removal

Hi All, Got the FBH working today. With colder weather inevitably approaching, I'm sure there'll be more folks looking to get a stubborn FBH firing up again, so if you've found this thread during a search, below is a brain dump of what I did, it answers some of the questions I had at the start...

    in line thermostat mod td4

Hi, Think I'm going to do this - my TD4's temp gauge is starting to be a little less stable than previously. Although the car gets to temperature quickly enough, when you go down a long-ish hill the temp gauge quickly moves to 1/4 warm. Don't fancy the 4 hr job to replace the factory themostat...

    Temporary FBH Removal

Thanks Vertuas, that's helpful, when it stops raining I'll check that out. Do you know if the FBH can be removed through the wheel arch?

    Temporary FBH Removal

Thanks Rhodie. Does anyone know the diameter of the coolant pipe the FBH is on? I'm assuming if I remove the FBH and fill in the gap in the coolant pipe with some hose the car should be good to go? I guess I'll also have to block the FBH fuel pipe? Can anyone think of anything else? Does...

    Temporary FBH Removal

Hi, Before the winter returns I'd like to get my FBH working. I've had diagnostics run and it's showing a Glow Pin and Burner fault. I've found a Webasto engineer who'll fix it, but I need to remove the FBH to send to him. Does anyone know if and how I can temporarily remove the heater unit...

Do you regret buying a Freelander?

At coming up to 3 years, the Freelander is quickly becoming the car I've owned the longest (in 13 years of driving). I've been saying I'll get rid of it for a nice new FL2 or Disco 4 for about 18 months, but I can't justify spending more money when my FL does nothing wrong. As an all weather...

I've given up on my handbrake, just leave the car in gear when parking.

    2nd Time Starter

Hi all, My TD4 has always started instantly, but recently it's been reluctant - consistently starting then coughing to a stop after a second. Starts 2nd time round, but runs rough for a little while. Any idea? I know it doesn't sound like too much of a problem, but I don't want this to be a...

Clutch pedal not quite returning to normal position

Mine has done this intermitently since I got it - hasn't got any worse, so have just left it, as above though, would be interesting to know what it is.

    Freelander gone

I moved in the other direction, from an E46 330ci to my FL. Good luck with it, was a nice (if thirsty) car. Loved the interior and toys, hated the MV2 wheels which buckled regularly and (on mine) failing electrics.

Anything that helps flood the market with good used FL2s can only be a good thing to me. I'm considering an FL2 in the spring.

    Snow's back!

We tried to get across the Peaks last night (Holme Moss if you're a local), but found the road blocked by other stuck cars. Lots of cars struggling on the way down, I just turned on HDC and cruised the whole way down. Great system.
