Last night I sanded one of my headlights, other will get done tonight. The completed one was in a much worse state than the one still to do.

Roof was just over 2m so had to buy 3, which gave me the extra to match the door cards 👍

New fuel pump and filter arrived today along with 4 abs switches for my 55 plate TD4. Fuel pump & filter changed, plastic housing fell apart but got to make use of the rivet gun I bought about 10 years ago to put it back together 😆

Door cards finished (upholstery and plastic respray), and passenger ones refitted. Will fit drivers side tomorrow.

Yeah, it is a risk. I'm doing it because the original LR paint has gone that way so at this stage anything is an improvement. I did try vinyl wrapping them at first but there's too many awkward curves and it looked a mess.

Give it all a sand and clean. Will be using Hycote plastic primer, although I'm sure any plastic primer will do. Base coat matched to car colour and then a lacquer. Should hold if I do it properly 🤞

I used Aortha Orthabond contact adhesive. Good stuff but you need to work quickly with it. Fabric already came attached to foam, if you need to stick fabric to foam then use a spray adhesive so it doesn't seep through.

I don't think I could face doing it again! Spring is probably a good shout, I did mine on the table in the back garden. Garage was too cluttered (that's a whole other job!).

Just finished replacing fabric on door cards to match roof lining. Tomorrow, spraying the plastic bits and then another job off the list!

If it works for you to do that then why not. It's a big fiddly job, but I think mine was getting beyond anything other than full replacement. 👍

Hi All Thanks for your advice. Brute force alone didn't work. Got a gas gun on it, heated it up and then gave it a few more whacks and hey presto!

Yes, as had to replace bearings and UJs, wanted to check it first in case I needed to go for full replacement or I was lucky enough just to replace those bits 👍

Thanks. Not through a lack of trying - as proven by the massive bruised lump on my hand (a mis-timed swing with the club hammer) 🤣🤣 I've left it to soak in WD40 overnight and will go nuclear on it tomorrow.

Thanks for replying. Already tried that, rear came off as easily as the video, front just won't budge from the VCU. Soaked in WD40 to see if that would help but it just won't have it.
