got an oil leak it is dripping on to front dif not very thick oil no real smell of oil ,it seems to be coming from near diesel pump (2.5d p38 1999 auto) any thoughts

Yes air con fans they are on the mod Thought about head gasket but pressure ok

Engine temp ok till towing very heavy trailer then goes up fans on all the time (mod with thermostat) even when not towing pressure ok when removing cap New pump Rad Thermostat

Tested rad seems to have baffle so thinking head But then thoughts I would get new rad got one from budget radiators good service checked rad and noticed old one had metal pipe, So blew down new over flow air went into rad ok did not check old one (could this be the problem) but what the heck...

yes diesel new pump and thermostat(tested)

pipes hot not solid done fan mod and not cooling but they do make rad cold but pipes and top of rad still very hot, when it starts to get towards overheating if i put heater to hot and blower to half or full gauge goes back down this makes me think baffle has taken a walk in the rad. any input...

next on list oil change 4l run it for a bit and then lucas and another 4l

Ok slight change but little things can make big difference As before but revs stay at 4000 for couple of seconds then drop about 2600 reapply throttle revs up then down it as if something is disengaging drive then limiting revs could torque converter disengage and ecu cut power

This a new box then

ok box seams ok under normal driving but if you kick down it hits 4000 revs and box seams to stop accelerating revs stay up take foot off and go light on accelerator speed climes. any ideas p38 2.5 d 1999 dipstick on box oil red

It s already got a 300tdi fan so was going to change viscous unit

Had a look at fan its from a 300tdi is this ok I could just change coupling about 25 quid

its the fan next step speak to Datatek

+ pipes were firm but could move a bit worried about head

what about overheat its ok normally only when towing does it overheat
