    mystery engraving

I have a series II Discovery with a V8 that decided to go pop, I suspect a slipped liner and bought a replacement engine off Ebay. I noticed this engraving on the top of the casting the gearbox bellhousing attaches to just behind the left side cylender bank. Does anyone know what this...

    Clutch Failure Discovery 3

Clutch wear is generally down to driving style. The dealer will no doubt claim this, so you will be banging your head against a brick wall trying to claim against LR. I have known some people to kill clutches in 2000 miles  If you really think the car is at fault get your driving...

    TD5 wiper problem

Check ALL of your fuses, not just the ones for the wipers. There are generally two live feeds to the wiper motor; 1 Ignition sourced live through the wiper switch. This appears to be OK as the wipers are actually turning on and off. 2 Ignition sourced live to 'park' the wipers, this is...

    Gaylander Rear Brake conversion

Not cheeky at all, but a fair assesment of your attitude to other road users. So you say you have all this driving experience but still you drive around corners so fast you cannot stop safely in time, even though you have previoiusly had problems with 'slow' drivers. You need to re assess your...

    Yet another light question!

These recesses in the lower bumper are for fog lamps, and yes it is an offence to use them unless in fog or falling snow. My car has them fitted and i've tried then in foggy conditions an found them to be useless. Save your money and look to upgrade the bulbs already fitted to your headlamps.

4.0 V8 Disco with an 80 litre tank, about 60 litres to fill takes me about 160 miles.

Straight forward job most tyre places wll do, although Kwik Fit refused to do my Disco on the normal rig they insisted it was put on the 4 wheel alignment machine. That cost me £60.
