I'm on roll now like... Cruise control fixed today :high5:: Tow bar and electrics fitted today (plug and play loom lol) New throttle cable fitted too and adjusted nice light throttle now... Few bits left to do still but getting there....

Quick question guys my 99 model has the earlyier headlights all silver ones, 2000 onwards has the black bezel tpe which i prefer, can the early ones be opened up and painted inside to match the later spec or are they totally different etc... Anyone tried it ??? :clap2:

Datatek...i never make the same mistake twice :p That said the (shorting of the wire blew the fuse Maxi2 which stopped it running with my ebcm) Then i replaced the fuse while my ebcm was away Replacement Ebcm fitted still never started but this this time it wasnt down to the fuse it...

I FIXED MINE WHOO HOO Thanks to this forum and its members and Rick the man....

Original Becm = fubar ( lights/horns/hazzrds issue) due to water damage of heater O rings and pollen filter seals hence board damage in Ebcm Second Ebcm = out of working range with existing components Third Ebcm = Paired with Original ecu and working great Rick knows the techie stuff...

All in all after Doug refunds me circular of £850 ish :rolleyes: But its fixed and i can draw a line under it now for this fault anyway :clap2: Thats thanks to all the gus on here :D

Ok in addition to all of the issues ive had i want to thank you all firstly the guys thats been to help me get sorted one way or another, RICK, Doug, Sasanach (fusebox loan) Saintv8 = defender300tdi = datatek = and all the other guys that has had major contribution and sitting reading RAVE...

Ok guys just to clarify what it was and the true storey behind this fault.... The Ebcm was the original fault with the lights/hazzards and horns,Due to water ingress from heater O rings and pollen filter seals, when diagnosing i shorted the terminal on the underside of fusebox and blew MAXI...

I will add the full diagnosis later on tonight guys once im fitted my seat and trims and stuff then got cleaned up and a little start up video.... THANKS TO ALL YOU GUYS THAT HAS CONTRIBUTED YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, SAINTV8,DEFENDER300TDI, RICK OBVIOUSLY AND DATATEK ETC ETC CHEERS GUYS

its a top job i tell you basically fitted a new ebcm and my old ecu and charged the battery and locked unlocked the car and off they key she burst into life 4.6 v8 on janspeed burble is all back and drws a close to this mamonth task i would like to that rick for his diagnosis and technicle...

this deserves to be shouted from the highest trees hence capitals guys its a bloody runner i tell you its a runner guys fired up first click of the key get in the back of the ****ing net, fired up like a kitten off the key no messing about top man rick...

Hi guys posty has been ebcm are here and engine management im half wa through fitting them and will have results in approx one hour guys fingers crossed just the ebcm left to plug in then the battery last FFS lol

The new Mots coming out next month have 3 previous mileadge records on apparently so say this years mot, will have current miles and then 2011,2010,2009 previous mileadges at mot...

My expierience of service history is basically as said its a stamp in book that looks great when selling but in reality its over priced minimum metainance a well looked after well serviced car serviced at home is a better car... I service mine twice a year and do full serive then small...
