You engine will be a 2.5. Land Rovers haven't been fitted with 2 litre diesels since 1960...

I think you use an allen key to retract the lugs.

    European trip disco

Also, don't forget that it is now compulsory to show either DRLs or dipped headlights during the day in Switzerland - sidelights isn't enough.

    Dashboard lights ?

Discovery 3 or 2? I was only aware of this happening on the D2 (do a search for "Three Amigos"). It can be anything related to the ABS system, from a bad connection within the pump block, to a knackered wheel hub. You need to find someone local with a diagnostic tool (Hawkeye or Nanocom) to...

    2wd with diff lock?

I've done it in an emergency (front CVJ went), but I wouldn't want to for any prolonged period.

    ABS, TC, Downhill Warning Lights

The dreaded "Three Amigos". Could be any number of things, from a bad earth at the ABS pump block to a knackered hub. Try to find someone with a Nanocom or Hawkeye locally (or failing that, a Testbook at a dealer) to determine what the actual fault is. If it's intermittent, chances are it's...

    shock bolts snapped

Take the top bolt out, remove the bolt holding the brake line to bottom plate, and jack the axle down. Get the spring and shock out, lift off the plate and get some mole grips to the remains of the bolts - or drill them out.

    shock bolts snapped

You don't need to touch the turret bolts, just undo the top bolt from within the engine bay.

    Front shock absorbers. Discovery 2

I wasn't aware they came out. When I changed my shocks recently they came as a complete unit. I would think that if the bushes are gone, the shocks are too.

    whats best !

Nanocom has more information available at the same time, is very useful for monitoring the state of the engine etc. during running, can sync keys with just the 6 digit code on the back of the circuit board, and does a better job of handling the air springs. Unlock codes for other vehicles are...

Unable to Open Rear Passenger Door

Here's a rod from the rear handle that fits into a plastic bush (at least on a facelift D2)

Unable to Open Rear Passenger Door

Sounds like the connecting rod from the external handle has popped off - happened to my D2 - but if you have had the card off and checked I'm stumped.
