Well, just changed auto filter and oil, nothing has changed gearbox wise but strange thing is, handbook says it holds about 9 ltrs but i only got 3 ltrs out when draining. thought that may be the problem but only managed to get 5 ltrs in when filling before it started to run out of filler plug...

unfortunately i don't know, the problem has slowly got worse and reverse is only there with a lot of revs and up hill is a no no. forward gears seem ok but it does slip alot between the top gears. i am hoping oil and filter may cure this, or am i flogging a dead horse?? cheers phil.. ps 158000...

Just checked our disco and the bleed nipple is on the very top of the steering box and intact. the hole i'm talking about is lower down on the fan side and sits about 1 cm away from a metal oil pipe feed/entry point, it doesent look to be threaded thats why i thought it was a breather hole...
