    Exhaust dilemma, too loud!

Quick update. New centre box fitted from MIJ exhausts (thanks Zen) which has removed the bark and the droning but retaining a nicer V8 burble than standard. Pleased with the noise; it seems appropriate for a classy old motor!

    Exhaust dilemma, too loud!

Morning, My 91 RRC recently had the middle box removed as it was rotten. My mechanic suggested it would sound louder/nicer without a box at all and while it definitely sounds more V8 like, I'm not sure I like it. So, I can't just put a silencer back in as he cut the rear silencer pipe...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I changed the coolant temperature sensor and heater resistor pack on my 91 V8 RRC. Need to figure out whether over fueling is fixed over next few days but it seemed to run sweeter from cold earlier. 3 speed fan again is a major bonus. Either steamed up or massive noise was getting a bit...

    Classic Heater blower issues...

Hi, I ordered my Atlantic British resistor pack from Island 4x4 yesterday. It arrived today and I had it installed in an hour. I am at best average with spanners but it wasn't that hard. I did mine without removing the decker panel and accessed via the vents. I've no doubt removing the...

    Classic Heater blower issues...

I also have this issue! Think i have deduced that mine has the resistor pack under the scuttle, accessable via the air vents. This should, in theory at least make for an easy fix with the Atlantic British replacement kit from Island 4x4. I was about to order mine but the pesky vehicle has...

91 3.9 losing losing power momentarily

Cheers, you may have guessed my skills and knowledge is basic! I do recall now its in the middle on the top as i had a problem with a fuel tank vacuum on a previous RR - i got half way through removing the tank and a friend suggested releasing the fuel cap....a little embarrassing when it fixed...

91 3.9 losing losing power momentarily

I think the battery is good, judging from how well it turned over repeatedly when it was flooding the other day! The alternator looks new-ish but will give it and the earth connections a good check over tomorrow (hangover willing of course!). I don't have a meter so can't check the voltage...

91 3.9 losing losing power momentarily

Hi, My 91 V8 has had a very intermittent fault since buying it in May. Every so often it would, for a split second lose power. The rev counter would drop but almost immediately it would be fine again. As it was only a handful of times on 6 months i ignored it, however today it has done...

RRC running hot when towing/ in traffic

Hi, My 91 3.9 runs hot when towing. It mostly sits just over the half way point but then rises to about two thirds for no apparent reason. I have managed this by turning the heater on full blast to cool it down which seems to work. It also happened last week without towing but in a...

    A favour please?

Thanks for the links but these aren't OE spec, they are more modern versions. I'm after the grey Vogue SE stickers only. Range Rover boot and bonnet badges are the right type and correct. Cheers though....will keep looking

    A favour please?

Tried Ebay and all the sources I can think of. Ebay is mostly full of later model chrome badges and nasty aftermarket tat. Have searched for 'lettering, transfers, decals, badges' in a number of combinations and no luck save for one who maintains they use a font 'close to factory style'..not...

    A favour please?

Hello, I'm after some help please? My 91 Vogue SE has had a near lower tailgate and the bodyshop obviously had no idea about where to put the Vogue SE letters, or the number plate. The letters are too high and the plate too low! Through work, I can have a vinyl company make up the...

Are 265/75 tyres too big for my Classic?

A mate of mine is selling his old Discovery that has newish LR alloys and BFG All Terrains. They are 265/75/16 which I think may be a bit big. What is the forums view on this size? Would they scrape the arches? Will they spoil the look? Mine is completely original and although will go off...

Water leak into passenger footwell + weird brake pedal

Thanks for the replies. Couple of things - what is the 'skoosher'? My RR is a Classic not a P38 but maybe the ABS is the same? Either way, it isn't when braking heavily, it is under normal braking.
