    Engine swap in 2 days

I'm 21, live at home with my parents, I have 2 Saab 9000s out on the street, my Series 3 on the driveway my dad hand built whilst my parents car lives out on the street :p So couldn't really justify getting a whole other vehicle Any of you got a 200tdi to sell? :)

    Engine swap in 2 days

I'm in Port Talbot in South Wales. The only reason I went for the pug engine in the first place was it came ready to bolt in for £155 and was fairly local. I'll be honest I didn't know the 200tdi engine bolted up to the standard series box. There is a C plater 110 Defender in a scrappy...

    Engine swap in 2 days

I'm not sure on what models of the LDV and other vans had the XD2 pug engine fitted. As soon as I find that out it'll make finding one so much easier. Doubt there in any Vauxhalls to be honest. This engine is proper old hat!

Well that lasted well didn't it... DIY plastic water pipe split, leaked all its coolant out, me being a total idiot tryed to limp home, cooked the head... Its cracked so good for the bin  What a tit 2.3 engines just don't excist! 2.5 turbo diesels aren't too hard to find and...

    Mud tyre suggestions

Is anybody on here interested in my 750/16 tyres? The front 2 are Flamingos which as you say are Firestone copies, and the back 2 are Olympic Super Mud pluggas. All 4 been fitted about 2 months back. Few nicks out of the corner lugs but still look near new. I shall get some photos of them...

All this talk of spacers reminds me of that Chop Shop programme. They don't half make some ****ters on that programme! On one of there **** pieces they had spacers which were about 30cms long! They had to get somebody with a lathe to make them

Removing free wheeling hubs to get at bearing

The front wheel bearing on my Series has a substantial amount of play in it. Undone all the bolts around the hub but it will only pull off about 5mm before it won't come any further. There are some small allan key bolts in the very end of the hub but they are very small... Can't imagine...

    Engine swap in 2 days

I'd thought about that but with the petrol I could run it down to off the gauge before it ran out of petrol, which it would :p I've got a leak somewhere now so I shall be under it this weekend with the spanners again :)

    Diesel or Petrol

I may be tempted to sell my Series 3. Its green swb and a diesel. Was a petrol but I found it too thirsty for my liking so got hold of a Pug 2.3 diesel engine off ebay and fitted that. Similar performance to the petrol engine but harder wearing and cheaper to run, win win. 4 recent mud...

A small problem I have is when the tank is about 1/4 low its putting air in the fuel lines when I either drive up a steep incline or accelerate sharply. Whats the solution?

    Claiming a car??

I was going to say what Ratty said... The system may be flawed for the current owners, if they don't reply to the letter because they've changed address and the DVLA hasn't been notified. But then that'll mean the DVLA won't be able to get money out of them either. So I'm sure the DVLA...

Series 3 springs above axel conversion?

How bad can it be? I don't drive my landy hard enough to get roll issues on road and being mine is a pure off road toy the chances of having to use evasive action at say motorway speeds is slim. However I have had my standard issues ground anchors get me caught plenty of times... This...

    Mud tyre suggestions

The Dee Stone tyres are the same tread pattern as the Flamingos I have on the front. They aren't the best, only 7.5 inch wide and the tread gets clogged up with mud too easily. The Insa Special Tracks do seem the best bet. £330 though.... Going to take me a few days to talk myself in...
