Thanks JamesMartin, I did try that would a wooden mallet but the VCU won't shift and I was afraid that I might do the bearing some damage if I go overboard. Tapping out should be the solution? Would some WD 40 on the inner face of the bearing help. Don't think the thing has been exchanged...

Hi all, I am trying to replace my VCU this weekend with not much more than two lollipop sticks and a roll of sellotape! Well, that's how it's feeling at the moment after a good workout trying to get the housing off. Any way, it's off but can anyone tell me how to extract the front output...
